i didnt call them, just via email. for me much better since i have documentation to prove that they asked me to bring it rather than phone conversation.

Just received a call from Nikon Service Centre, they said is good to leave your D800 and lens for them to calibrate.
They said normally within a week.
Sigh this it what discourage me to send over, should do it on the spot.

a week seems to be long. but from experience(cleaning job), they told me a that it will take a week but when i came, i was asked to stay and got it after an hour. but for calibration, although they are saying a week, maybe it will be less. i believe they will always do their best to exceed our expectations.

Handheld, ISO 25,600, F/2.8, 1/30 sec.

Not bad and usable.

it was a challenge to use, might be my technique. sold it. bought a 28mm 1.8G.

Your lens is using screw drive? How come can't auto focusing?
Or internal PCB cable was failure.

Dont think its screw drive..... same as my 50 MM nikon .


but nikon lens auto focus but this one does not

If your AF 50mm f/1.8 or 1.4"D" yes is this work as well for AF screw drive.

99.9% if using screw drive cannot works, that mean is faulty.

If BIM also can't works is consider failure also..

Bring back to service.

Let us know if there is any improvement after calibration.

I sent mine in, took 4 days.

End result - not much difference, not noticeably better but then the left focal bank wasn't OOF in the first place but not as sharp as the right side.
