see this, using iPhoto, aperture can do it too

To copy the location of one photo to other photos:

You can copy the location of one photo to another photo or photos.

[*] Select a photo that has the location assigned to it that you want to copy, and then choose Edit > Copy.
[*] Select one or more photos that you want to assign the same location to, and choose Edit > Paste Location.
The location is added to the photos, which you can then view using Places.

Thanks Ortega. I have done this before. It is not a bad solution but it doesn't actually edit the EXIF so it works as long as the photos stay in iPhoto. Once exported, they will be gone again. I think there is software to edit the EXIF but all require additional work. The advantage of buying a GPS unit of course is that all will be auto. Maybe for lazy people like me.

You can try GeoSetter which is a freeware to copy the gps data from one image to another.

Thanks tomcat, Ortega, slow trekker for your help. All are workable solutions. Now I have a lot of choices : ). I also found out that Ortega's solution may also work as iPhoto CAN export location. Got this from iPhoto support pages:

"If you export your photos (rather than publish them), you need to choose whether to include location information during the export process. Select the photos you want to export, choose File > Export, and select or deselect the “Location information” checkbox before clicking Export."

Should call NSC and ask them abt the changing policy. If the shop is responsible, report the shop

No point arguing with them, I just went to NSC for the exchange, which was pretty hassle free. BUT I'm never going to set my foot in that store again.

And that salesguy even "told me" that their stocks were only 1 week old.. come on, my newly received D800 L1.06 firmware was already receiving the new battery batch. And I don't think Nikon Singapore is that dumb to send to stores the affected sets when the advisory was issued by them in Apr-12.

Getting a little OT here..

Yo, Got my D800 on Sunday!!!
Mine's S/N 8011*** and tested with 14-24mm and 20mm ... so far seems ok :-)

I have just watched this video on the focusing issue of the D800. I never tested mine THIS carefully, so although I thought my set was okay, now I am not so sure anymore :( I wonder if I could just bring it to NSC and ask them to test it anyway...

HeartOfAperture, you have less to worry since yours should be from a new batch. My D800E is 8000*** Congrats by the way.

This one is easier test. You should try it.
Nikon D800 Left Autofocus Issue - YouTube

I read somewhere that they already have fix for it in case your cam has an issue.

should be no problem bro and be happy with your toy.

i contacted the nsc asking about this issue and they asked me to bring it in. will do it next week they are asking to bring invoice as well(lens and cam)

Yo just bring your cam down to NSC and have them test it out...they may do it for free since it is a reported known issue.
Congrats...I was initially hunting for the E-series...but couldn't wait 'cause I have a project assignment on 21st July this Sat..
Cheers :-)

Seem like the 14-24mm not recommend for 36MP, if all the time an only shoot from 20mm & above.
For me I will go for 16-35mm the performance is better.

Are you bringing it in because you know you have an issue or because you are not sure and just want to get it tested?

how long NCS will take to calibrate it ?
I dont have proper tool to test so its good to let them test it out.

Same sentiment here. I guess we all have the capability to do the Siemens Star test as per the Youtube above - but I have to confess it is really not fun, so looking for easy way out by asking NSC to do the test

i'm not sure and i want to get it tested.

i actually made test by myself. my judgement might be subjective knowing that there is a known issue. it's just a good thing that nikon singapore is willing to check it even without asking me to do scientific test.
