Reject what were your issues ?

i think my issue is a bit subjective. i feel it is not sharp even if i put it on a tripod or i'm just expecting something that's not really supposed to happen.

Reject,

Let us know if there is any improvement after calibration.

I sent mine in, took 4 days.

End result - not much difference, not noticeably better but then the left focal bank wasn't OOF in the first place but not as sharp as the right side.

will do. what lens are you using? i will test mine with a 28mm 1.8G

Got mine yesterday. Would probably be getting a 50 1.8G this week to go with it for the time being.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I find the D800 AF system very complicated, and the user manual is not much help. Had to do many google searches to find that I needed.

KRW has just posted a convenient idiot's guide to the D800's AF system. For those with similar struggles, u might want to check it out:

i got my at OP sim lim square. top fit nicely and rear screen bit longer as you can see from rain5533 pic.

Just go to NCS to check whether my D800 got left focus issue.
After half an hour checking, they said my D800 ok.
Below are the result, any comment on the result.

Erm, I thought left focus issue is for wide angle lens like 24mm and below?

I don't have 24mm ler and they said they used 50mm to do the test if u didn't bring own lens ....

Most of issue is on 24mm f1.4G.
But not effect me. Cause I don't have it :D

I borrow their 28mm f1.8, sharp sharp very poisoning but very plastic feel.

Ha ha don't play too much the plastic lens, after you will bring it home :)

Eddie77,

IMHO, it should be compared with live view. If LV vs TTL shots are similar, then ok. From the picture, it looks ok. What you should do is spend 20-30 minutes with a tripod, MUP, exposure delay 2 sec, single focus point, wide open (50mm 1.4 is fine too) and 3 targets (left, centre & right) if you are not convinced.

If no issue, good and happy for you.
