D800/E or D600

Ok, I am not afraid to admit this. I shoot raw because I am not good enough to get everything right. Post processing is time consuming but it's fun! :)

Question is, can you ever get every shot 100% accurate? Even for super good shooters...

especially when you are shooting a big even, or weddings, when light changes., every thing happening all around in split seconds...

Also when shooting commercial shots... can you risk it and shoot JPEG only..

Something i wish to clarify for RAW photo.. Erm software like the Lightroom and CS photoshop can convert RAW photos of any camera or need to update it and check if they can do it for that particular model?

If you screw up a shot, you screw it up with raw and jpeg alike. Shooting raw will not help you save a bad shot.

What raw can give you is a broader range of possibilities to edit your photos.

Plug-ins for raw support are constantly updated and available for download on their website. They will list down the models they support.

Agree. If the settings were totally off, then nothing can help except to go back and re-take the shot. But if it's a 2 or 3 f-stop error, post processing can still salvage (at least good enough for me). The problem I have with my D90 is that the dial cannot be locked and hence there were a couple of times when it was turned to "Manual" by mistake and I didn't realize it ...

Just show at the buy/sell Nikon equipment, posting D800E at $2900 with one year warranty...

Usd2900 maybe.

thanks for the alert.

I've gone checking for the D600 cheapest 2950$ with any kind of payment & D800 and i end up deciding to go for the D800.
I've check the price of both those who have D800 stock cheapest cash was 3880$ or higher.
I already put my name on reserve list for the shop that sell cheaper and hopefully i can get it soon :)
I give it by mid next week to reach if not i will go for the 3880$

Good decisive choice! You'll not regret the d800 :)

It really is dependent on how and what we shoot. most of the times I do not need the details... and the files are too much for me (or computer) to bear, especially when i process around 2000-4000 images at one go for each big event.

Machine gun shooter? :bsmilie:
