D800/E or D600

But with the issue happening currently between china & japan seem like will be more difficult for Nikon to get parts from china.

Yeah, I think so too. :|

WoW reading some of the first impression of the D600,
i'm really tempted to go for it even that the price difference is not big to get a D800 instead.:think:
2900 or 38** ???

You're not missing a lot on the d600. There's a big gap up to the d600 in terms of resolution, but if u don't need the extra 12mp for now, no point paying extra. Buy what u need :)

I think D800 pricing has already come down from the 38xx level...

Sensor score for D600 is 94 on DXO.
Very good score!

I will go for D600. If i were in this position to think which way to go.
The number of AF point and MP is good enough on the D600. Its cheaper and lighter as well.

Overall 94 slightly lower than 96 of d800

But low light rating is impressive!

The dynamic range is able to match the D800 across the entire ISO scale! Nice!

Do you get the D600 also?

Cause sound like you have both on hand..

Sadly no. I do not own either camera. I am still holding on to a Nikon D70 and a Nikon D7000.

I shall most definitely be getting a new dSLR in late October this year. I hope the demand for the Nikon D600 will taper off by then... Otherwise, I may pay the premium for a Nikon D800E.

D7000 has been good enough also DX King.

Honestly to say, D600 still got a big gap from D800.

Lolz price is different leh, if D600 better than D800 in every area, then all D800 users will cry Liao.

Most people who will buy D600 probably don't earn from photography. From an enthusiast point of view, it has everything I needed and real life test proved to be so too. I spent the price difference between the 600 and 800 and bought another lens and a flashlight. Couldn't be more happy :)

Read the review. After you will now why he said' Unless I discover something seriously missing when my own D600 arrives, I will no longer be recommending the D800 and D800E for anything other than testing lenses. The D800 and D800E are a pain to use in the field for their lack of programmable presets, and cost too much.'

Nikon D600 Review

Pls take what KRW says with a pinch of salt -- he contradicts himself often enough.

Well, just a review only. Might be a good advice.

Quoted from ken "The D600 also runs faster and has much better resolution than the D800. Less is more: the D800 had so much darn resolution that its files quickly clogged our workflow, especially for any shot NEF raw and had no smaller resolution options. We now can Adorama our old D800s and D800Es and get the D600 we really wanted in the first place: a smaller, lighter, smarter version of the D700 an one who d D800. Hooray!"

lack of programmable presets???? There are 4 banks for shooting menu and 4 banks for CSM... that idiot. He would only be happy with a camera with complexity of a toaster,... and yes he only shoots JPEG.. lol

Well... its just a review. Nothing wrong if shoot in jpeg as long he is a good shooter.

After Read the KRW comments and he would preferred his 5D3 to instead over Nikon at it stage, cause he like using 5D3 with 28-105 kit lens only.

So sometime human also can be eat snake one..,
