head down to your nearest tour agency, pay $480 for a return ticket to Japan.

and make your way to nisshinpal located in akihabara, they currently have limited stocks of 50 D80 body and 50 D80 kits selling at knock-off prices even by Japanese standards.

received an e-mail from them in regards to the pricing, thats all...

on average, Japan is selling the D80 body at around $1200-$1300 SGD

nope, it doesnt, its solely local warranty... but AFAIK, you're still able to get your set serviced for minor issues like sensor cleaning etc in a another country's Nikon service centre

As long as the body & lens isn't grey, Nikon service centres worldwide would take them in. Irregardless where they are bought. Those sets bought in America, can have a longer warranty period.

no lah... was joking abt the 2 sets left.. wat I'm trying to say is that the 50 sets at japan at such low prices would be snapped up real fast... who wud actually fly fm Sg to Japan to try his luck? no local sg warranty sumore.. so its impractical to compare those prices with the normal selling price in Sg..

I feel that the HN price is a good buy cos theres an option for u to extend the warranty to 5 years... We all know that they usually sell at a much higher price than that so I tot it'd be gd to share this special price at Funan

heh, even if it did get snapped up, you can still purchase the D80 body at $1200 at other retail outlets there

the absence of local warranty isn't really a huge issue as Nikon service centre accepts all of their genuinely made products.

There will be people willing to fly to Japan just for the sake of buying electronics, in fact, numerous retailers in Singapore actually flies to Japan frequently just to purchase electronic goods to sell in Singapore, yes, their prices are that cheap.... ^^
