Hello guys... my d7k got oil in my sensor... when I stop down to f22 tiny black dots are visible! I tried giving it a nice blow job but it won't cum out.

I researched on the internet and they say it's common. I called nikon and they say sensor cleaning for d7k is free of charge.

Any of you guys here experienced the same? I dug up a thread specifically about d7k oily sensor that died half a year ago . too tired resurrect that thread from more than 6 pages under!

here is the crypt: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/nikon/1009465-nikon-d7000-still-oiler.html

did you try dry / wet swipes?
I had dust sticking to the low pass filter that produced the spots. Cleaned it away easily using lenspen sensorklear.
It is not an oil spot, just specks of dust. Not sure how to determine which is which though.

I have yet to encounter the same problem as you mentioned.
My problem lies elsewhere. I just got back my D7K last weekend. Not yet tested on it yet.

Since NSC can clean your sensor for free... Just drop down there and let them clean it. If you have further queries, you can always ask them there. :)

A bit sad to hear you..

The old base, if you can works as carefully by own.

still can prefer use on lens pen to clean up and using the strong LED light and point to see which area have a small dot and using the lens pen to clean it,
Also look at the picture location too.
Just single clean and using the blower to blow the pen head and continue clean fews time is ok already.
After done you may use the air blower and facing down the lens mount to to down side and blow it few time and shut down the cam and can be instant used.

I had this oil problem couple of months ago, brought it to NSC and they replace the mirror mechanism which I'm not really sure which part exactly.
Have taken about 5000+ shots since and haven't seen any oil spots till now.

I kana the same as your case and i brought it down to Nikon just 2 weeks ago. They replaced the mirror driving unit and they told me for such case, they will clean FOC even if no warranty. Just bring it down and they will look into it. I get it back within 4-5 days although they told me need 2 weeks. Kudos to their service.

I just tried to shoot at F22 and i can see the spots again. But is ok at F11. Since F11 is ok, don't think i will head down again unless i shoot at F11 and below and the spots come back again. =)

Guys, got a noob query, please bear with me..

The ViewNX2 editor that comes free with the camera, is there a noise reduction function in it? I have been using other editing software all these while, so now when trying to explore this software, I don't seem to be able to find it. Is it omitted from the software??
