D7000 users (Part 4)

Very good, just curious ... Moon has got no color ? Some NASA shots show moon in blueish/purpleish shades.

Are you really expecting a full scientific explanation here? If you are that curious, you would have reached this page faster than I did:

The Moon & Its Color

Sometimes I feel people take Offense for simple questions asked by newbees like myself.

I think the forum is to chit-chat a bit also, take it easy. I know there's google, but I like talkin to humans.

Since we are on the subject of moon shots, and I got some tips from seniors in another room, plus the moon tonight is BIG! So here's my moonshot - D7000 + Sigma 150-500mm @ 500mm, ISO 100, f8, 1/20sec, -0.7EV (this was a mistake that I only realized later).

After some post-processing in Photoshop for details (rather than aesthetics), here is what it looks like:

Heyy I posted some photos of the moon in my landscape thread xD

I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, I mean no disrespect and I did not take any offense to your question.

I hope that we can keep this thread clean for the users and potential users of this camera so that they can ask questions and look for information within this thread easily without having to sieve through all the chats. If you wish to have a chitchat, you can start a D7000 users chat group in Kopitiam and we can all happily do so there.

Ok lah, friends again ** hi five **

Playback delay -- noticed there's a second delay (or 2 seconds) to get to thumbnails view when pressing playback button. LED indicator glows for this time. I use class 10 transcend 32gb card.

Is this normal ? Actually I m not normal and can't tolerate this delay, else I might miss my train to heavens.

Any experiences with Sandisk extreme pro cards, is it an instant read or also got some delay ?

What's the general view on eyefi cards, it's class 6, so assume it will be slower than my class 10 card.

I wasn't your friend before and not now, so there's no "friends again". I was only explaining to you why its unsuitable to chat here.

Whatever keeps you happy. I'am now trying to act on the advice to keep the thread clean.

ISO settings

When using A or S mode, I press iso button and rotate dial to change iso settings, but can't go to auto. Have to go through menu to toggle between auto and manual iso settings.

But, when in Auto/Auto no flash modes, I can press iso button and rotate dial to toggle between auto iso and manual iso settings, very handy feature. Can this be made default for other modes also ?

Thanks and good night.

I don't think so, because you are required to press the ISO button in the two mode change the ISO value. You can make your life easier by assigning the ISO change to the dials so you do not need to press the button while changing ISO.

Because I shoot mostly in "A" mode, I assign the front dial to aperture, and rear dial to ISO. I *LOVE* the combination.

yup me too =),

if want to set EV just press the EV button and turn the rear dial, it's really simple and easy (better than pressing the iso button (for me).
