and then i back to malaysia and the price was just rm3500 at average, which at about $1400+, thats big different
i asked the shop that does where the camera made in an issue (i assume perhaps singapores' made in japan)?
he told me that even singapores' are made in thailand
so.... can you guys tell me about this issue?

i think thats really big different.... buy in malaysia get a lot cheaper...

One of my friend's Dad found a store overseas selling D700 w/ grip for USD800, D300s w/ 18-200mm for USD600. They're both second hand though, but it was leftovers from a mass purchase, so it's not touched yet

thanks.... trying now..

for others, have to get batt full charged otherwise it wont run
so, i have to charge my batt first...

That's so much cheaper than my D7000. >.<

Anyone has the latest price of d7000 body? Btw I know d5100 series is far off d7000 but will it ever lower the price of d7000?

apparently not so fast gonna lower down d7k. if it does i will bang my head against the wall. prices are less than 1.7k currently. see how gd a deal u can get. i got mine at a happy price nth worth boasting tho. haha. what matters is u happy with ur new cam :D

The whole world's supply of D7000, D90, D300s and D5100 are all made in Thailand.

Nikon's FX cameras are all made in Japan...

So what's the point? Does that make it a better or worse camera?

Geez...

if i didn't remember wrongly, D lighting turns the background clearer (in a landscape photo), but it also does something to the foreground which i don't really like. can't remember but there's a good example on the D60 model. too bad i sold mine though XD and do bear in mind that turning D-lighting on means more time required to process the image

Please, at least understand what the feature does, before actually giving advice on the subject.

D-lighting just boost the light levels in the shadows. that's all. It will try to balance the dark and bright parts of the picture to give a more balanced output... nothing to make thing "clearer" or do anything to the foreground.

probably factory reconditioned cameras. That means, units returned to seller, or repaired by SC. Tons of these these in USA due to the return policy in USA. Problem is prices sounds too low. Might be scams or cameras in bad condition or just a lousy pawn shop. Might also be a public auction due to bankruptcy or seizure.

His Dad's a professional. I'm sure he wouldn't make such silly mistakes

Arh yes the background was overexposed and the foreground was underexposed, so when it balanced out, it kinda washes out the foreground at the same time

If he can bring in those D700 & D300s, he could make quite a large profit. Even I am interested!

hmm anyone upgraded the version already? o.o

Well, these are not silly mistakes. As the the true sources of these cameras are hidden from buyers. And most professionals know phototaking and business of selling services and photos well, but know next to nothing about the business of equipment and equipment. No offense. Really takes people in the know to know the stuff that goes on behind the scenes. Nothing wrong with those cameras actually. Some are new (especially seized items). But to think that these cameras are available in abundance, is just fooling yourself.

You can also get these deals in SG as well if you go auction hunting. I remember someone paid a couple of hundred for a 50d sometime last year. You can find deals if you are patient and know where to look.
