Just collected by D7000 kit with freebies. Will try to show my goodies here once I opened it out.

Hi,

Just bought my d7000 a couple of weeks ago and have been noticing a partial orange brown tint appearing across many of my images. Especially in indoor shots. It would appear at the bottom, at the side, across faces etc.

I tried shooting at continuous shutter and will see the images appearing in different tints on the same subject. I am unable to determine the cause of it and have had many shots ruin by this.

e.g

Anyone experienced this? Is there a reason? or is this a faulty set?

hi creatsia, you'll be pleased to know the simple reason behind this. i've been using my d7000 and i noticed the same thing too. i presume you are using flourescent lights indoors? the problem is that u are probably shooting at a rather high iso given the noise performance of the d7000, hence your shutter speed will be quite high if the lighting is good. however flourescent light doesnt give a constant output and varies at high frequency. the high shutter speed captures this, hence u notice u get different exposures if u shoot continuous. noticed this when i first got my d7000, was quite worried but glad i found the reason :) can give it a try, hope my explanation is correct!

Just bring the warranty card and receipt to Nikon when u need to service/repair/calibrate, etc. You don't get any extra warranty for lenses so I don't really see the point of re-registering.

Usually, it's not sealed. Dun be surprise if the camera has been "tested". That means the shutter count is not zero when u receive it...

If your are quoted S$ 1930 with GST for the D7K kit, plus the freebies...sounds like a pretty good deal.

Hey guys, i'm keen on upgrading to a D7000, i'll be buying body alone. Where could i land the best deal ?

Thanks !

I was last quoted $1675 from TKfoto. Good luck.

Awesome, hmm do you think it will drop to 1.5k range around june ?
I am eyeing the d5100 and the specs are pretty sweet. However i prefer the ergonomics of the d7000 and the extra controls makes my life so much easier. I started out with my d3000 and its pretty small for my bigger then average hands. And the constant need to menu dive to adjust settings is slowing me down.

$1.5k region for kit by June? i seriously doubt so.

i hope the price drop too but like cheesy says im doubtful as well. Hopefully someone arrange another grp buy this june =D i wanna get my D7k this june too =DD

if you like D7000 just buy it... now still june you would have miss lots of nice shots..

I'm looking at body alone. But as Cowseye mentioned. 1675 is pretty good too. Currently i'm in NS but have 1 month more to go. I'll hold up till then. My D3000 is still serving me superbly well. It was the camera that ignited my passion for photography !

After a thorough look thr, there still a distance betw D5100 from D90 or D7000. D5100 might be a good alt. choice for those who wants to get D3100 (not upgrade from). The price when it comes out might make it even less attractive..

hi senior member, for D7000.. if we use D lens, should i turn on the auto distortion control... cant really tell the diff.. manual says if D mount, okay to turn on...

alternatively.. can any other member advise if they turn on the auto distortion control for D lens...

Should be fine. Distortion control reads the chip in the lens and apply the distortion adjustment related to that lens. D lens comes with a chip. It should work.

if you like D7000 just buy it... now still june you would have miss lots of nice shots..

but exams are around the corner if i buy now no time to play around =X so i would rather wait till ive got time... btw do you guys agree with me the prices of the cameras during the IT Fair is very expansive? or is it just me?

The price for the D7000 is really cheap. It's higher than usual but the free gifts are worth a lot

but i guess its not worth it if i wanna buy my own stuffs right? for eg. the bag, the mem cards and dry cabinet....
