How does 'downgrading' to a cheaper camera force your creativity?

You'll have to compose the shot in a condition that your camera allows.

Errr... ok. Interesting point of view.
Can't say I agree with you. Oh well :)

do they sell sigma lenses cheap too? i intend to get a d7k body from malaysia.

Hi with regards to your Q, u may check those prices via a reputable online store, i.e. Shashinki.com though I am not affiliated with any of them. Cheers :)

I've just joined the club. In fact, I sold my two D700s today and bought two D7000s instead. Now to sell off those two useless 18-105VRs.

Why downgrade? And why 2 sets? And if you're gonna sell the 18-105, why not just buy body-only in the first place? Do you have 2 sets of each lens too? Not sarcasm. Seriously curious.

Anyway let's wait for tweakmax3 to comment on his downgrade haha

compare with my previously eos
D7000 GREAT...!:bsmilie:

I shoot weddings professionally and I'm always with two bodies (since I tend to shoot with primes).

Downgrade is a harsh word. I actually think I've upgraded. The reasons I will make known in a blog post to come but it all came down to extra redundancy. My clients pay me a huge sum and having one single CF slot in my D700 was IMO inadequate. I've lost a card before and I don't ever want to go through that again.

So far, I can't complain about the D7000 (coming from D3s, D3, and two D700). It does what it is supposed to, is lighter, smaller, and newer technology.

Here in Australia, there aren't many retail shops with body only. And since it was a very impulse buy, I needed two cameras immediate. That's why I purchased two kits with the intention of selling both 18-105s.

Wouldn't the D3 or D3S solve this lack of redundancy?
If I was shooting for big bucks, definitely D3S the way to go :)

D3 and D3s too expensive as a startup for any business owner. I don't have a spare 12K lying around, and if I did, it would be spent on other things. I sold my single D3 months ago in favour of 2 D700s. I used to rent a D3s on assignments. Now I have what I need to remain in business.

There is also the issue of weight and size. Hanging 2 D700s (even on my double blackrapids) on my shoulders after 18 hours is pretty nasty.

PS - I hate the size of the vertical grip on D3/D3s. It is too small, my pinky keeps snagging the second shutter release (and locking and unlocking it is a PITA).

It's not about how much money I charge. It's being smart.

Compare to d700 ... It really lousy..

Comparing you and Einstein You are a total Retard. and Lousy can't seems to fit the bill.

Creativity isn't really limited by Composition.
What happened to Creativity is limitless ?

Seriously Mid Range to Top End in these case D7000 to D3s

The only thing we have in mind are the Lens and the sensor. Yet do we really need it ?

I use to shoot with a D300s and I find a rather large confusion and half hearted decision when it comes to owning a D7000 or a D300s.
(Been renting alot from camera rental >.< )

One thing is certain that When a photographer knows what he wants and need.
The body can' be different, but My fingers must really find what I'm looking for.

Its alittle adjustment from D300s to D7000 but I'm overall Amazed by the D7000 extra feature and noise control.
It is still frustrating to find the iso & wb button located lower near the LCD region.
And the dial of D7000 has too many unwanted stuff, it switches easily too.

Just some minor different and maybe the Sensor is smaller and the Speed is slower a tad lower.
I don't see anything missing from creativity.

On the other hand using my friends D3s seems overwhelming unnecessary.
During weddings its dual cameras like what danielkcheung does. the memory slot is one of the key things I don't give a damn during a wedding.
Not till it runs out.

Ok I see what you mean.
In the end you chose the right equipment to fit your requirements

Hi everyone, I'm a new DSLR user and just bought D7k last week. Just to check with you guys, which file type do you guys set to? NEF or JPEG? Pros and cons?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Personally i would shoot raw... :)

raw to card slot 1, jpeg to slot 2.
raw for editing, jpeg for just copying pics when lazy to do post processing / image is already well taken.
