eh near the battery hatch, theres this detachable rubber piece. what is it for exactly? it kinda annoys me cos it keeps coming out accidentally

It's for another accessory. The power supply if u r shooting in a studio setup. It takes the place of the battery n that rubber is where the wire will come out from.

Eh, duno how to describe. Buts it's not the one near the tripod screw leh. It's the one on the battery compartment.

Yea it's the opening for the power supply, the people in some overseas forums actually glued it shut which I feel is not a very good method. The problem would be solved if you use a battery grip though.

Mine keeps opening up as well but I just put it back.

Just bought D7000 body in JB, a lot cheaper than Singapore, about sgd1200++. Local set (Msia), only concern is warranty against malaysia nikon. Go JB and buy if u dont mind.

hehehe thanks for replying! another thing! you knw our images are counted. DSC_6388 blah blah blah right. If reformat the card, will it go back to DSC_0001? cos i dont want files with double names on my com. my old d80/d90 will restart the number after reformatting. damn annoying

anyway im considering about whether to bring my d7k to paramore concert tonight. i only got a 50mm and 35-70mm f2.8. I've never been inside indoor stadium before but i have a feeling my kit will be quite useless there. im at Cat 3, back of the standing area. So should i bring or not?

It won't go back to 1, it will continue counting from where you last left off!

If that concert is in indoor stadium. Don't think DSLRs are allowed. If it's not. Normally cat3 are super far away. Don't think you can reach at 70mm.

Under the Custom setting menu - Shooting/display, there's a option for File number sequence and turn it to "on".
So whenever after formatting a memory card, it will not reset itself to zero again.

Nikon bodies are local warranty, so your HK warranty is not recognised here, definitely have to pay for servicing. The cost depends on what is problem
