Hi guys, though I just share this link with fellow users on 'The Best Memory Card for the Nikon D7000'

Since I'm just starting into photography, I'm currently just using the SanDisk SDHC class 4 8GB card, which was one of the freebie when I bought my D7000.
I'm thinking of getting 1 or 2 more SDHC cards this week so enlighten me with ur comments and info ya?
I was told a class 4 would be enough for photos, but if were to take HD videos, gotta get class 10.

how bout the other variants of Sandisk SDHC card? like the Extreme III and so on?

mine kana dust but the mirror up + blower trick works for me

Get at least a class 6 n above card. If u r shooting raw n will shoot at high fps, get class 10.

My setup: slot 1 transcend class 10 32Gb storing raw + videos, slot 2 sandisk class 6 16Gb storing jpegs.

If budget no problem, juz get 2 x class 10 n use slot 2 as a duplicate card.

hello all. i recently bought my nikon d7000 (last saturday), and today while shooting a green line appeared at the right side of the lcd screen, it appears on my info screen, my preview ect. I don't think it affects the image in the end, but the green line is really bothering me. i want to ask if my warrenty covers this and if there's anyway to remedy this?

Hi to all D7000 Bro and Sis, I was taking a few shots for my wife and 2 kids in the Mrt a while ago. But when I downloaded to my PC, only my wife and youngest daughter seems to be focused. My elder daughter who was siting in front of them was out of focus. I was using the 35mm 1.8, Apeture 2.2, Focus Mode : AF-A, AF Area Mode : Dynamic 9 pts. I really need someone to enlighten me what went wrong with my setting. Many thanks for reading.

Google and read more about aperture and "Depth of field". You will eventually know why are you having this problem.

can anybody check for me if the rear lens cap for all nikon lens is the same size? my 50mm lens came with a rear plastic cap. would like to get a proper rear lens cap for it.

Yes. It is the standard F mount size.

I believe the Transcend class 10 is not really class 10. The transfer rates are close to the sandisk class 6.
Having said that I use two 32 gb transcend class 10s as they were cheap.

They r class 10 cards. Google up class 10 specs. Manufacturers cannot sell something below specs.

As for sandisk cards, they are way above the defined specifications, thus they have better performance. Take the extreme cars for example. They have a r/w of ~30mb (from my memory) compared to transcend's 15mb(?). If there's class 12 / 14, I believe the sandisks will fall into these categories.

Hi just want to check any of you who requested courier for the free 50mm lens from NSC, did you receive the free lens?

You are right. My bad. Just that I noticed my class 6 sandisk being the speed as the class 10 transcends when i run speed test on them.

Yeah, like what Cowseye mentioned. You need to read up more on Aperture and DOF. Plus, the 35 1.8 can be a pretty "soft" lens if it focused on your wife and youngest daughter specifically. I encountered this problem when i had taken a few photos of friends sitting around a table. Stopping it down with rectify this. Go and experiment with the different f stops.

yeah, it does attract some dust. but a blower always works for me..aim camera down and keep blowing and best if there is no big wind movement in the place ur doing it..else more dust go in.

Just tried blowing away the dust bunnies. It didn't work unfortunately. Will prolly send it down to nsc for a good cleaning.

try cleaning yourself? I bought a $17 sensorklear from Cathay and cleaned my sensor. First time doing it so was very careful. And i got it cleaned! haha...

woah, i just googled Sensorklear. It's just like a lens pen. I woulden't dare use it on my sensor ! haha. A little paranoid man. I rather try those sensor cleaning swabs. But due to my lack of co-ho-nas to take sensor cleaning into my own hands. I'll leave it to the techs to NSC. = )

hahaha... at first i didnt have any confidence, but since i've been using lenspen on the filters / lenses, i'm quite comfortable with it. Actually, its just like the lenspen, just that it's got a smaller tip.
I'm trying to do an MO for the swabs but it's still pending Mod approval. Hopefully they can approve it and I can generate enough interest to get it in.

I called to register my details with them on 1 Aug 2011 (bought my D7000 on 31 July 2011). They have not called me for the collection or updates yet.
