Hot pixels are everywhere in my d7000. When view video in pc, very huge red dots appear:angry:

just send it in to NSC, and they will do a remap and the dots will be gone.

Just came back from iPhoto minutes ago. They offered me 1700$ for the body only, totally including GST. and a 8G SD
So. just contact them Remand who is a nice gentlemen.
Amazing body. but battery is low. so charging now.
I also call ms color. they quote me 1800 cash price, so sad. and recommend me to buy kit set. this is a trap?
iPhoto is good. that is body only set with Nikon Singapore stamp. but I found it is listed as " D7000 HK set" in the warrant card. is it hongkong set ?
Anyway, the body is so hot. And i can exchange another one once I found hot spot.

does this hk set will still cover warranty here nikon singapore ??although there is a stamp of nikon singapore?? please help im planning to buy there also body only at iphoto ??

Guys, you should not be paying more than $1,650 after GST for D7K without kit lens at this moment. Don't be chopped by shops that seem reputable.

May i ask did anybody manage to buy the Nikon D7000 Body in the golden box?
Not the so called kit box with the kit lens "trade-in"...?
Anyone at $1650 with gst? ;p

Dont think so. All initial batch of stocks are all kit set.
Body only option wont be available so soon.

any idea how long will it take to remap? I'm sending mine soon (even though its less than 1 week old)

Hi Guys:
I heard the hot pixel in D7k. I just examined my body. Very sad, I found a lot. Obviously, you can find 4 and also a lot of hot dot around. What can I do? send it back to Nikon or call the camera shop. I bought from iPhoto, and was told they would change a new one, if I found the hot pixel.:angry::angry:

Then screen printing from video can be found from the link below. You d better put in full screen, they find a lot.
Any comments.

Yes. Body only set is available, i.e. In gold box not a break set from kit set. However, there are very limited sets available to all the dealers. I knew a friend collected his from Cathay Photo.

I don't think you can get it at $1,650 w/GST, atleast not now, I think it is more of a wishful thinking. D7000 is very hot now in US, constantly go out of stock almost immediately everytime the shipment arrived. If you can get it at $1.7k you should grab it now before it go out of stock here too. Important thing is that you can start enjoying your new toy now like the folks here.

Hi ziggurat, did you manage to confirm whether the iPhoto set is a grey/HK set or a local set? Believe grey sets do not have local warranty. :(

Updates for whoever is shopping for the D7000: TK Foto and iPhoto are already out of stock. AP quoted me $1,800 as well for body only. :(

Hi, quite a newbie here. Wif the box written hk I dun think it's hk set. My d90 box written above the barcode "D90 (HK) 18-105 KIT". Bought my set from cathay photo. Wif the warranty also written the same. Distributor also nikon Singapore. Yes. Confirm D7000 has body set. Gold box. Saw it. Written "D7000 (HK)"

seems like there is a hot pixels issue in D7k . . .

This is golden box. and I do not know what it looks like for the grey.
I believe it is local. Anyway, i will check with then and call Nikon SC for the hot pixel issue.

I also got mine yesterday. d7000 body in the golden box. It's the same hk set and distributor Nikon Singapore. The guy who sold it to me at SLR Revo told me that it has a local warranty.

Looking at your case, the hotpixel seemed to be serious indeed...

I guess I have to examine in details too.

The way I'll do is:

1) Take video in dark and examine obvious hot pixel areas and not obvious hot pixel areas
2) Use photo to verify

Sometimes photo alone is not accurate enough since the sensor is affected by 'dark current'.

no wonder my repair takes longer now . . .

Those D7000 body only in Australia also has this "HK" on their warranty, so does not look like it means Hong Kong... Since the Nikon Australia name is on the distributor field, and they do have local warranty.

Maybe if someone is going to NSC, they might want to ask NSC what does this HK means... Wonder if anyone there would know what it means...

Erm, anyone knows if there are accessories out there for D7k? Like screen protector, body armor etc?

I called NSC, mailed in the raw photo as per requested.
I was told that the hot pixel in long exp is common across all camera, i must turn on the long exp NR.

He checked the exif data of the raw photo that I sent, it shows that Long exp NR is off, altough it is ON all the time on my D7000 since i bought it... ERM... something wrong? anyone having the same issue?

Anyway, mine is lucky, coz my hot pixels are located at the very corner area... ?
