From understanding, as the PCB is multi-layer, the copper lines will get corrode in 1-2days time. Not to mention, is the water you spill, mineral or distill water? If it is distill water, the PCB corrode even faster as it reacts faster on distill water. This can be easily seen on the PCB as water patches, thus no point drying from outside and try to send in to NSC to pass off for general servicing. On look by an experience technician can tell that water have entered into the camera.
My advise is that, if you can, pop open the camera and dry directly using tissue, remember to clear away the water drying marks that might be on the PCB. You might run a better chance in saving it. Next then send in to NSC for check up.
In all cases, if you need to change the main PCB, you might as well pay for a new body, as the repair cost is not going to be cheap.
As for your lens, the 24-120VR lens would cost more to clean as compared to the 18-70DX. Due to the fact of the VR module.
One question in mind... is it that your lens got fungus due to the water spill or it just got fungus due to poor maintainence? Do you have a dry cabinet, preferably a electric one?
Sorry if I'm too straight, but that is the fact from past experiences of water spillage on other electronic components and appliances.
