yasterday just make my pre order and i am at que 30 hopefully that nikon give cathay more stock.

and there is no charge for pre order

went to AP today. when i asked about arrival of d70, one guy there said that end of this month it will be launched. He said that Nikon told them that D70 already in s'pore but the lens not in yet. ;p :lovegrin:

ASked him about price, he said not exactly sure but he heard that it will be close to 300D. :thumbsup:

so lets wait n see....

no additional charge. it's not even a pre-order, it's more of a waiting list, like u do when u go bowling. :bsmilie:

they'll just take your name and contact number. i guess it's more for them to guage response and decide how many to order.

and also to give those who are truly keen on getting it early, a chance to get their hands on one in case the response is truly as overwhelming as we expect it will.

With a D70, you could easily exceed 10k shots in a year.

I was thinking more along the lines of 1 roll a week... that's already a lot for me. at 50 rolls a year, $2000 would buy me 12 years of film at today's prices...

Furthermore, unless you change or buy a new DSLR body every year, the DSLR can last for at least 2 years.

I said...without lens 1.8, with lens, >2K. US pricing is $999 without lens, in SG it's about $1,730, street price would definitely be cheaper.

And don't compare it with 300D, D70 is MUCH better to be compared with it. Try comparing it with D100 at least.

I think the shops will use the magical number price strategy again, $1999 for kit. Coz heard from AP guys that kit is definitely below 2K.

FYI, a Nikon retailer back in Indonesia has started pre-order of D70 set for price of 9.5 mill RP or around S$ 1900.

shouldn't be that high considering it's made in thailand. look at the honda city or the toyota wachamightcallit. made in thailand, cheaper.
