To me the main difference is the image quality and dynamic range.

That's my main reason to upgrade also. Just thinking out loud that if there were more 'upgrade' in terms of function eg. a exclusive AFL button that would be great.

I sold my dx lenses except 40mm micro which is less than a month. I will probably sell it and get a brand new flash. The 85mm of my 24-85 does an acceptable close focusing job with an acceptable dof. The 24wide end also gives me an acceptable foc for lanscape too.

Although i have plans of grtting 24 and 85 mm primes.

How much they charge you on sensor cost?

they said there is no stock of sensor because it is a brand new series so they don't have stock, need to order and will notify me later..

You ask them demonstrate to you how you could have damaged the sensor.......

Camera is brand new, no cleaning of sensor done before, and if never dropped, then how can it be your fault??? It died after how many clicks?

You can try bringing it back to the shop if u have not registered warranty. Some give 7 days 1-1 exchange.

exactly bro, it's not make any sense, Nikon costumer service is not really good... I think after 100-200 shots it died...

I just called the shop (TK shop @ funan) and tell them what happened so they have called nikon to negotiate about the charge...

I should think about it bro, bring it back to the shop first... good lesson for the future, thanks guys!

Okay, in this case they cover you or you have to pay by yourself?

i also seem to have some dust spots on the top right of my sensor

crap, took my canon 450d 4 years to even accumulate any dust spots

You are too nice bro.

The sensor is the most expensive part of a DSLR and cost over 1k normally. I will not settle for a repair, it's 1-1 exchange all the way, test lemon law to fullest if it's me. :)

Share some humble pictures from this camera. Only tweak some exposure and saturation.

wow this camera is a winner :)

Not particularly happy with my 24-85vr. Vignetting can be quite bad with vignette control off.

I don't seem to find a problem with the 50mm f1.8g and the 70-200vr2 though. Might be tempted to just get the other two of the three f1.8g lenses and get rid of the 24-85vr.
