Such expensive camera got so many problem. Maybe i will stick to D7000, or buy D300s(or even D90) used. At least it is so much cheaper.

I doubt that Nikon will admit nor correct the 'mistake', as that would means they may need to recall the 'defective' products. They would rather sweep all the dirt under carpet.

Then in another nine or twelve months' time, upgraded version of D610, D600S and D810, D900 will surface in the Nikon rumour. Willing buyer, willing selling. I'm just one of them. In this way, a simple modification to change the part or material, will generate more revenue for Nikon.

Meanwhile, if it is not major issue, not worth to send to NSC, I'll just enjoy the camera and shootings.

Well, the D600 is about 5 months old now, and things haven't seem to improve. Assuming a 2 year life cycle, the D600 is almost 25% through. So it is a little disappointing.

Maybe they ordered too many of those dodgy shutter units from their subcontractor in China (or whatever part is causing the rapid wear-off) and now they need to get rid of them. I'm just surprised they haven't sold them off already.

I wonder what about the dodgy D800 AF module. I tested a new batch D800E, left and right is still misfocusing from the center AF.

Woah! The D800 just turned 1 years old this month! If there are still problems with the AF module, it is really quite disappointing.

First week of February2013. I bought a Nikon D600 & Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 mid range zoom lens and I was on vacation to Hong Kong - Macau - Korea - Taiwan & Japan just came back yesterday. I took many beautiful picture and so far find no issue of dust & oil. I guess some are not so lucky I believe dust & oil is a common thing in all camera sooner or later you need to service your camera it can be clean ask Nikon Service Centre for guidance. You can do it yourself.
