D600 Do You Have Spot/Oil Issue?

Seriously how many cases are really oil stains? My D600 had 2 spots of dust, which was easily removed by cleaning the sensor. So far, so good. No more dust after that cleaning.

D600 is a good cam at a reasonable price. Let's not forget its strength and blow up the issue out of proportion ...

Irregardless oil/dust, it seems a troubling issue for quite a number of D600 users. Hopes Nikon sorts this out cos I wanna buy it ! Lol.

i was planning to get D600 by end of the month but this thread is freaking me out! was originally considering getting 6D & D600 (FF) or Pentax K-5II (ASP-C) and finally homed in on D600. Now hav to think again...

D600 is not for faint hearted individual... It requires men with guts and patience...

Patience to understand the cons and guts to face the dreaded service center...

I have shot few hundreds pictures in different settings I do not have any issue with dark spots or oil stains... I guess I am lucky to have gotten a perfect set last week

Did u shoot at f22? Those spot will not appear in the normal shoot.

Ah I can only step up to f16 not up to f22 for all my prime lenses... I did try with f16 there isn't any issue

F22 for macro shots or become more soft.

Just sharing an advise:
If you're sending your camera for sensor cleaning (service center or third party), it's best to take a proof (evidence) before you hand over your camera. Just take a picture of a white wall or piece of paper at small aperture.
We've heard a few not so good stories. Photographer blame technician (not me ) for scratching their filter. Technician say it was already there when they got the camera.
The proof will protect both photographer and technician from any conflicts

Could this be the source of the dust problem? And will someone check whether your D600 have this scratch too?

My new D600 already show me a lot of dusts/oils in 2 days, nvm maybe really bad luck the dust cun cun went in while changing lens. Cleaned it with rocket blower the next day, seems ok. Today went to shoot sunset with small apertures, uploaded to computer...OMG it's much worse! A lot of dust/oil or whatever show up on big screen...
My 2 years old D700 50k shutter count doesn't even have so much dust man.

This is unacceptable.
What should I do? Bring back to NSC for clean up every 2 weeks?

Yesterday, Came back from 10 days holiday to Shanghai and had taken more than 2000 photo with D600.
This morning went for marco shoot and found the sensors have more than 100 spots from photos taken with
f25.
This afternoon took a close up of the D600 mirror area and found similar scratch as show in the Dpreview.

I do that after every shoot, and yes they do clear up. But there will be a couple of sticky ones that takes more efforts to clear, as with all DSLR, so gotta be patient.

If you have an important shoot coming up, maybe just send it in to Nikon and ask them to do clean up for you. Just be nice when u are there, tell them the issue, don't need to bang table, and i am sure they will get it sorted for you. It's a new model and maybe they have not even identified if its a factory issue or us user issue, so they are still honoring the cleaning I believe.

I wouldn't try wet cleaning this camera for now to ensure warranty remains intact. Most importantly, do not forget to do what Fatigue mentioned earlier

I care more about the hassle and time wasted to send for cleaning than anything else. I don't wanna spend 5 minutes on each landscape photo.
Been shooting for 3years used 5 different bodies.I know dust spots is a common issue for most dslr, but this time it's really too much for my limit. Brand new sensor with less than 500 shutter count shows me more than 20 dust/oil spots. This is the worst dust spots experience I ever had.
