D600, D800 prices

Have anyone seen tincheung website? D800 pricing seems to be on the higher side at HK as the body is priced at HKD26,800 which converts to more than SGD4,000. I'm puzzled as I've heard that they should be priced lower at HK.

Looks like the price for D600 has more or less stabilized at this price ...

Which is disappointing when you consider how much the same dSLR is going for in Hong Kong.
Demand matching up with supply. If only the D800 were the 'ideal' choice of upgrade for the D80, D90, D300, D7000 users, then u would see the D600 plunging the same way as SSD and HDD prices.

True, price is a killing factor for up graders. Jumping from D80 to D700 is a killer for me then cos that's e only cheapest full frame at that time. Now with D600 in between n half e price to D800, many will go for it.
Hi Kenny just to share that I have decided to bite the bullet and got myself the D600 from Cathay....S/N is 804xxx onwards.... been shooting with it and just hit the 1200 mark on shutter count... so far no oil or dust issue at all. Never change my lense in between. Playing ard with aperture F1.8-F22 and all good as of now. Hope it helps.

Artworkfoto's D600 is one-year shop warranty, not local Nikon warranty. Coz their shop name not listed in Nikon's authorised retailer page: http://www.nikon.com.sg/en_SG/dealers.page? Apparently those 'unauthorised' dealers are slashing D600 prices, it's only those shops registered for Nikon local warranty that are still pushing prices around the $2.3k-$2.5k range. So it is something to look out for when buying D600, given D600 users' history of patronising the Nikon Service Centre often.
