D600, D800 prices

Kind of hard to quantify dust free though. I'm around 3+k shutter but my recent test shot showed no spots at all? Or maybe I'm under the resolved batch?

Might I know when you bought your D600 and what is your serial #? If this is really true, then at least I can buy with a piece of mind.....Because I am really interested in this camera...with it being full frame and its price....

if new batch does not have the dust problems, then it will be a good buy and I may consider buying a new set. Sold off my first D600 (SC less than 2k) as I don't have the time to make several trips to NSC just to have the sensor cleaned.

Don't think my clean copy can be representative of the entire batch though. If I'm not wrong my numbers state with 804. Maybe another few months or so the situation will have gotten much better?

When did you buy yours? This year I guess... Asian serial numbers starting with 803 have been pretty positive as well so far.

Wa!! And you never grab and run as fast as you can? Really really good price :)

I think you will not get the same price if you go again tomorrow......

Haha. I bought it yesterday. But voucher is only $35, not $40. Quite happy with my new toy. Looking for tour lens 28-300 now.

BTW, free dry cabinet no more stock. Wait for notice from shop. They say Nikon didn't prepare enough dry cabinet. Wondering it is a digital dry cabinet or analog one.

Congrats bro. Looking forward to see your pictures in the D600 user's thread.

One more info. The shop sales person told me that Nikon can only provide free sensor cleaning ONCE. After that Nikon will charge us $100++ per time. Is it true?

I guess he is not an owner of this model then. I have done 3 times, paid $0 :)

I think Nikon would hurt their D600 sales if they would do it like that in the current situation.

Hi...sorry for being so direct, but how do you justify that Asian Serial numbers with 803 have been positive? Reason for asking is that I am quite desperate in getting my hands on this camera :bsmilie:...but some how unless this matter has been resolve, I wouldn't put my $ on it... Thus like to know if you have any "data" to support what you have mentioned so that at least I can buy with a piece of mind.....

Once again...sorry for being so straight forward and if I have offended you in any way....

My assumption is based on this forum, just read through the D600 threads here. As far as I know the people who bought a 803 had no lubricant issue.

OIC...Thansk for clarifying...if no lubricant (oil) issue...any idea about the dust issue?

How about your unit? Any problem (touch wood) so far?

Just to update all those who are interested in the oil/ dust issue...Just found this comment on the US forumn uploaded about an hour ago....

"The Nikon staff at the walkup desk told me not to worry and that Nikon acknowledges the issue and are now replacing components to correct for the issue.....well, so far, so good, hopefully this is the fix...but I will be keeping a close eye on my photos to be sure".

Just to clarify, by lubricant I meant the sticky strains on the sensor which require a wet wash. If it's just dry dust I can completely blow off with a common blower I don't consider it a real issue (at least for myself).

So far no issue with mine but I would say I need a few more days shooting to draw a conclusion. It's pouring here today. I still have the Amazon shipping box just in case. :)

Hi..Thanks for your feedback...Will be waiting for your update after you have played with your camera more.....

Actually mine starts with 803****... had the lubricant issue too.

If you don't mind my asking, what's your starting 3 digits serial number on your new set..... Singapore stores are probably still selling bodies starting with 803... ( saw one 2 days ago at Funan)

I hope you alerted the buyer that he might need to check the sensor for dust/oil and advised him accordingly.

OK, I think two other forum members reporter no dust issue with their 803 sets previously. Anyway, I guess even the affected units all exhibit the issue to a different degree.

In Singapore they are selling already 804 body only kits (at least at Cathay).
