Pay $1000 extra to add more weight, to shoot that maybe 10 out of 10000 shot when u need 1/8000, and to spend even more money to upgrade pc? Well I think most rather spend on lens. In any case, everyone's needs varies

Agree .. But d800 just feel more solid on hand .. Its not that much heavier considering the good fx len u should be using ..

Though I wouldn't want to be a damper, but do try your body and shoot it from aperture 8 ~ 18++
Repeat and see if you have the oil/dust stains. Hopefully not.

My got oil spot again after this morning shoot at f25( Marco) even after sending back to NSC 2 times for cleaning. Funny NSC still don't want to confirm is oil stain and still say is dust. The spot is always found at top left portion of the sensor.
