D40 users come in!

Don't make it "must pay" outing lah... It will increase logistics and *gasp* workload on organizers (I scared kena organizer tio you, me, zaren)
Some points to ponder.. give some feedback

Was busy these couple of days, and this thread has grown from user grouping to outing! Excellent~! :thumbsup: Combing though the posts, I think unanimously the organisers will fall on the 3 musketeers! Ok, ok, I can help if time slots are available. Cheers!

actually we can go shoot china town as an outing. then advance to the buddha tooth temple and shoot for the competition as a group.

Friend ah.. we are just trying to come up with ideas first lah.. And also to see what content newbies will like. Organising and contents is different matter altogether.
Can those interested in joining the outing indicate your interest? (This outing will be FOC, try to make it informal)

well we can work on a program for introducing and maximizing the functionality of a d40 and learning from each other, but at the same time i believe people will start to discover new questions etc when the camera's put to application in shooting

I agree it would be difficult to introduce a standard, fixed program for across the users. Everyone has their own queries and specific interests. Maybe some levelling up is needed? Like Psycho (issit ok too?) had stated, introduction and maximising the cam potential. And thereafter we could just take our photos for informal "on-site consultation"? We should make photo takings more fun than overly academic.

I kinda feel I'm wasting my brain cells.

Helllo everyone, I am also a new D40 consumer. New to this DSLR thingy. but learning otj on it. I have no idea what this string is all about, but am interested to learn more about this cam's abilities by sharing. I use the kit lens and AFS 55-200 lens.

not sure what an ideal location would be....how about vivocity? quite a range of subjects to shoot (street/candids, architecture, P&P) with lots of open spaces to hang out and kopi places to chill out. transport wise should also be quite convenient, being next to the MRT.

yup.. i was thinking of either vivo or maybe china town cuz china town's got a unique mix of architecture and people. vivo's good too, lots of curves, stairs, and the roof's great

Psycho, think you and Zaren will have to handle the logistics if the date is Aug 6th-I'm busy till August the 17th.

Place : Stick to Vivo
Date : Have fun, and happy shooting/coaching for the both of you
Time : I suggest late afternoon, then the users will have the chance to shoot night shots if there is time
Objective of outing? : Objective is just to know the newbies better, and answer their unanswered questions if they have any.. and if we can answer it! (you and zaren actually, since I wont be around) :angel:

Espandae will be good also as we can jump from espanade to boat quay to clarke quay....
Chinatown i find it a big NONO.. cos imagine 20 odds camera pointing at a poor boy eating his dripping ice cream..... :bsmilie:
We are too big a crowd.... And furthermore... if its a evening/night shoot... 20+ TRIPODS definitely get those officers in BLUE on their toes... they sure look like some WMD u noe....
