If money is the object, then do rethink it...  with a FF cam, you need good lenses else you will have problems with the edges, be it sharpness or vignetting.
Thus, I'd reccomend that you stick to the D300 unless you have a good line of lenses already which can be used on a FF.

Here are the differences of a Fx vs a Dx with different lenses. Make sure you have GOOD lenses if you are going to the Fx direction.
