I got mine too at Lords!
My "chong" battery for D50 can't be use for D300  SMART Camera:bsmilie::bsmilie:

Got mine from Image marketing Lucky Plaza $2600 incl GST. Capture NX1.3 bundled. Still learning the features. Upgraded from D40 so relatively steep learning curve. Got spare original batt for $55. Is this cheap?

Good deal...

Anybody agree that there should be an option for auto ISO off in Manual mode, or at least customizeable with Fn button?

It doens't make a lot of sense to me for shooting in manual but ISO shifted to correct the exposure.

Or it already has it and I don't know how to use it? :dunno:

It is there, you can switch off auto ISO and shoot with manual + your own ISO.

You have to read the D300 bible.

I completed the manual (I always did that :embrass:)
I mean, switch off is ok, is there a faster way? Even I put it in my shortcut menu, I still find it slow.
Any faster way? An additional option which turn off the auto ISO when switch to manual mode, or customize Fn button?

Use exposure compensation? ;p

:bsmilie::bsmilie:how did u know my temporary solution? ;p

ok, nobody feels irritated like i do?

I think that's the only way to get what you want other than turning off the auto ISO. ;p I don't use auto ISO (since it's so easy to change ISO) so it doesn't bother me.

D300 with 18-200VR or Tokina 12-24 good for travel & landscape? Anyone? Dun tempt me and say both ya ... I just might  BUT wanna seek advice 1st. :sweatsm:

I have both, so I can tell you that when I last travelled, I had the 18-200 on most of the time.

You seem pressed for budget, so get that. Unless you are only going to shoot landscapes during your travels.

This thread ws started when the D300 was first launched. It has been quite some time that the D300 is launched, many initial issues and comments are given and many members have already gotten the camera. It is time that this thread be closed and members can just positn any discussion in their own thread instead of one long one like this with many pages.

Thread closed as as part of housekeeping.
