it is subjective. why bother about the DB? can be same DB but sounds different.

Thanks for all the responses on the shutter noise compared to the D100's. Wish they state the shutter db in the specs. :D

wa piang, what does DB got anything to do with this camera, Do u you know also whether is there a soft shutter releases button like canon .. ?

Not when you are shooting in a quiet environment like a small meeting room where everyone will look at you angrily with your camera going 'piak-piak-piak' annoyingly all the time :nono: or asking you to "F-off! I'm trying to enjoy the concert!" at the Esplanade Theatre.... Those whe kena before will know what I mean. Softer shutter sound may also mean less impact & wear but that's just my theory. :p

oh .. ah.. i miss that .. :) but looking back at that point of time when I am writing that. . . i know what u are refering to .. I have kena that before .. fortunately.. it not a meeting .. it in church.. can u imagine the preacher lose their concentration and pass a message to someone to ask me to stop or slow down.. hahahaha

Anyone tried the HDMI thingy? How is it when viewing photos on LCD tv?

Tried it on the first day not with a LCD but my old plasma.
Same like what you would get at shops that display HD pictures except that now it is your own pic.
Nice and can zoom in on details as well but the pic will not display on both the TV and camera screen.

for those looking for a 3rd party eye-cup to replace the D300's eye piece, i found it here on ebay. already ordered 1 piece.

i tested a d200 eye piece on my d300. it fits. so, probably this will fit. :)
