Ohh, great attempt! Everything looks quite convincing except for the lady's expression which looks slightly different from the original. :) Where is Emerald Hill by the way? Thanks for your reply!

Emerald Hill is behind Centrepoint/behind Orchard Emerald...that area....behind orchard la...

Thanks GunJack! hehehe this place is always crowded in the evening. So we went there on a Sunday morning and the place is empty. The only problem at that time was the place is really hot.

buy both. hehehe.

35mm is a good all around lens and specially if your doing portraits. I used to have a 35mm F1.4 for Canon. You can checkout this link to see how nice the 35mm lens can be in a crop sensor. But since Nikon does not have 35mm F1.4 better buy the 50mm F1.4 also. I like shooting portraits that's why I like both 35mm F/2 and 50mm F1.4.

Me and my GF just got our D300s. We have our new babies.

Nikon do have 35mm f1.4. it's been such a long time ago that we can't blame you for not knowing it.
The last version was MF and it's one of the most fantastic 35mm f1.4 ever built.

Thanks for the info Nikkie! I'm really new to Nikon.. Wonder how much is that 35mm f1.4 for Nikon. I'll check it out in Google. Well 50mm F1.2 and 85mm F1.4 is also interesting. Hope I can get these babies in the near future. :)

ok.. some stupid questions..

is there a lens hood for the 35mm?

mine has a lens hood but its mounted on a 52mm-58mm converter.. which means the hood is 37mm..

(my dad did that, i have no idea why. my guess is there is no lens hood for the 35mm? that.s why i'm asking.)

When I bought my 35mm f/2, there was no lens hood... so I went to OP and got one of those 52mm thread rubber hoods

there is. the part number is HN-3. you can check nikon's website.

The preferred lens hood for 35/2 is the HN-3 but it is troublesome as you will need to screw in the hood, unlike the HS hoods.

one more thing... from the images i seen online... it all states 35mm 1:2D on the lens.

mine is 35mm 1:2....

does it have any difference other than categorizing it as a type d lens?

one more thing.. will the usage of the 52mm lens hood cause vignetting?

I use the Nikon HR4 rubber hood for the 35/2.
