Hi all... here are 3 pics I just took... didn't have a model to pose... so got my "dog" to do it... :bsmilie:

No post processing of the pictures... just resized it. All pics were taken at f/2.

The focus point of the following pic is "FYON". It is a glass container of rocks and the container is about 1 foot tall.

The focus point of the following pic is on the eye of the dog that is nearest the Nikon lens cap.

Can share Why do you want to shift to D300? :dunno:

Me switch to prime lens, 24f2.8, 35f2, 50f1.4 and ASI 85f1.8.
The 24mm is very good for holiday useage.
Now considering to let go my 18-200vr for 85f1.4 or 105mm.........

Nikon is the way I will Go.

I saw the ad in the bus "Nothing escapes D300". Seriously... I saw the specs and I was able to try the D300. I really like it compare to my 40D.

Better results could probably be had in better lighting and a tripod used.

I bought the D300 2 days ago ... but the lenses in this thread is really poisonous.

Here is a sample pic of my 40D and 35mm f/1.4 L lens. I desaturated this picture in PS.

From what I see... the D300+35mm f/2 combo can match it.

2 days only .... I upgraded from D80. I say worth every cent.

D80's Lcd is more colour faithful thou.
going the way of D300, i will miss that.

but all in all, D300  rocks!

the AFD 35/2 is one kick-a55 lens. still my fav lens to stick onto my fm2 when the film itch strikes.

here's a sample from my recent roll. fm2 + 35/2 @ f2, on fuji PRO400H film. get this lens, if u can find it... now, if only neekon can update this to a AFS 35/1.4...

A comprehensive comparison here.

The winner is obvious. :P

I don't own the 35/f2, nor used it before but I'm happy with my 30/f1.4.

30 f1.4 is a true gem. really unbelievable quality from a brand i used to despise so much!

i share ur sentiments becos i love mine so much.

the 35f2 is the lens which spends most of the time of my nikon bodies. used it to take shots in church, delivery rooms, ballrooms... still outstanding at f2.

This also taken with D300 and 35mm f/2. I would say this is a very sharp, versatile lens

mind if i ask why the preference on 35mm f2 or 30mm 1.4 and not 50mm f1.4?

The angle of view for 50mm on DX is only 31.5 degrees. 30mm or 35mm would give around 45 degrees or more.
