I have been pondering all day if I should visit some shops tonight... I am affraid that if I see a D100 in stock I will buy it though. I really do want to make/see a good comparison between the d100/s2/d60 before I decide...

tonight? CP opens till 7pm, right?

be patient...let the frenzy over...then choose what you want. Make a no regret purchase since S$4k is not a small amount...I am sure it is hard to get another permission from the "boss" to buy another similar item...or "upgrade" with loses.

Christmas is a good time to get yourself a present...or give the big hint to your "boss", she might give you a big surprise! ;)

Join the SEED tomorrow and can some feedback, encouragement, discouragement, opinions from fellow ClubSNAPpers.

On the other hand, the pressure to buy when in front of like-minded ppl (peer pressure) is also gonna be great ;) Can you resist? Do you want to resist? Or do you want to be the FIRST in ClubSNAP to proclaim "I have the first ever D100 in Singapore, and I am gonna RULE tonite!!!".

I actually just talked to the boss.. We are meeting at Funan tonight.. Having dinner.. then we shall see what happens... I would love to be the first in Singapore.. But I think the advise above is sound. Wait for the excitment to settle a little bit before I drop 4k...
I can see benifits to each of the major new DSLR's... I really like the quality of the Canon d60 for long exposure night shots...
The Nikon D100 has multiple colour space which should allow for more freedom when shooting..
The Fuji S2 takes AA batteries and seems to be producing the best colours and sharpest pics...

Oy oy oy... If only I were rich!

I'm not 100% sure but someone on this board mentioned about people getting quotes from neighbouring shops for the D100 at about $3300-3400(?).

I am pretty sure that would be about the right price. My call to Cathay last night and they told me $4200... When I visit tonight I will find out what the cash in hand price is (we will see who has the cash when the evening is done though).

Wish me luck!

Bedpan,
Cool down...cool down...

You should really wait till you get to see the Fuji S2Pro. I don't understand why people choose D100 over S2Pro, besides the name/brand. Someone care to make a comparison of the two?

I am the one who wrote that Fotoguide is quoting 2 members of NikonList (they are from Singapore) at the price of S$3400 (I didn't say S$3000). You can check/subscribe to the nmlist at YahooGroup.

You are going to pay extra $$$ to be the first...but for me...that's nothing special but guinea pig.

Again...cooldown...wait...wait...wait...

After going through both the S2pro & D100 manual and spending so much time on the forum, I still cannot decide which one to get.

I guess I have to hold both in my hand before I can really decide and for that I will take your advice, wait.

The fact remains that the name 'Nikon' is more resounding and professionals stand by it.

I read somewhere in DPR forum
when you talk about Nikon, you talk about camera
when you talk about Fujifilm, you talk about negatives, slide etc.

Oh come on. You can't let some emotional statement affect your decision can you?

Just got my D100 today. Will spend the night figuring it out.

Cost of the thing is already S$3,550 to the dealers. If some shop is selling S$3,400 - go grab it!

Mauler...

Nope, not really. I'm not in a hurry to buy so I can wait.
Thanks anyway.
