Thanks sykestang, rncw, scanner and watcher for your input on credit cards purchased. End of the discussion I signed on the dotted lines. The shop did asked me and I agreed. It was a fair deals because using UOB card for hire purchase for only six months credits.

Regarding about D100 the product pricing mechanism is in control. Nikon deals direct with their supplier and hence the product pricing. when demand exceeds supply ,Nikon limits its qouta prices factor maintains.Best prices for D100 is to maintains supply.

Hi Airforce1,

How much did you pay and where did you purchase from?

Anyone has news on whether the stocks have arrived?

It's the weekend ;) I don't think Nikon Singapore sends goods out during the weekend, be patient, call up and ask tomorrow.

So for those who wish to get it, what lens are you looking for as well?

Just to let you guys know:
equote from Cathay yesterday night: $2600 w/o gst.

Works out to be about $2680.

Anyway, I'm seriously contemplating on getting the D100, but I'm not sure of whether a new model will be released soon, since the D100 has been around for about more than 1 year. I must seriously admit that I'm a bit of an equipment wanker... :embrass:

And furthermore, there's this upcoming photography exhibition @ Suntec in Dec. So i'm pretty much keeping my fingers crossed.

So what should I do?
On one hand, I'm dying to get my hands on a D100, but on the other hand, I want to wait for a newer model to be released.....

And if I'm intending to get the D100, I will probably couple it with my 24-85 AF-S. Or you can get the 17 - 55 AF-S as well

Heh, wanker! :bsmilie: (wanted to say that in public for a loooong time :D ). Nikon usually announce a camera 6 months in advance, together with the registration of trademark. Neither has taken place for the D100 replacement (though the have registered for D75 or D70 trademark). So you can at least use it for 6-8 months. Think of all the pictures you shoot in the mean time...

The exhibition will not get you great prices. There is no major replacement so the price will at most drop by 10%, if any (I doubt it as there has been a recent price drop).

hey watcher....
got the AFS 12-24mm yet?

I think the 17-55 should be a better lens with a f-stop of 2.8...

Personally I am more interested in the 10.5 f2.8 fisheye. Anyone know the price?

You can consider the AF 28-105 f/3.5-4.5, AF-S 24-120VR f/3.5-5.6 to kick off if you're going to buy the D100. If you want zoom, the Sigma 80-200 f/2.8 or the AF-D 80-200 f/2.8 is a nice setup.

If you want something in the range of 50, why not consider the 50/1.8? :)

The 10.5 fisheye is rumoured USD$1K I believe, too wide, 10.5 x 1.5 = 15.75mm The 12-24mm would be a good choice :)

Wah, you scare people off  :bsmilie: I'm using "just" the AF-S 24-85 G for my shots. I'm thinking of getting the 12-24 and the 50/1.8 (though the 1.4 looks and handles great, it is too expensive :( ). After that, the 70-200 VR or 80-200 G

The spanner in the works is the Sigma 12-24 Full Frame. The street should be around S$1.1k. But, the angle is very wide (122 degrees), so I really wonder about the quality...

for a start, the 24-120vr or the tamron sp af 24-135 will be good choice for considerations...then you can later consider either going for a WA or the tele-zoom.
for WA, think the 12-24 dx is the best so far (for it's wideness) or the 15-30 sigma (for it's price).
for tele-zoom, you have : af-d 80-200mm (nikkor/1.5k+), the sigma 70-200 (1.2k+), the af-s 80-200 (nikkor/2k+), or the 70-200vr (nikkor/3k+), to choose from.

Hello snag,

Buy do not comtemplate anymore, I was once in that zone and I lost a lot picture opportunity. Worse the money dissappear. ( any how spend )
I forced myself to buy and I gave myself one year to learn and upgrade later. At least I have something better I have D100.

Gee.....
I still have a F80 to work on..

Argh.
It's a real headache.

I'll wait for a while to see how things go... Maybe at the end of this month perhaps?

SNAG: Think no further the Dark Side is beckoning... come... choose your light sabre

BUY BUY BUY

The D70 will be out to rebel against the 300D, the D200 hasn't even been announced or trademark registered yet, so don't worry too much, the EOL is still far, they're releasing the D2x and D2h first, even if the D200 is released, there's nothing to worry as well
