crumpler questions

After 3+ years with my Crumpler Farmers Doubler backpack, it's been quite good to my camera equipment and computer. I've yet to have a problem with the padding or the "hairy" cloth producing lint. I was afraid of those other, shiny surfaces being abrasive or melting.

The price was high, but it's quite good.

Sorry...to hijack your thread...

Been looking around for a bag too...
and I have decided this 3 bags...

A) Lowepro SlingShot 100AW
B) 7 Million Dollar Home
C) 6 Million Dollar Home

Anyone can advice on this...

Today while inside the Crumpler shop..
wondering which bag to get.....
End up didnt buy the bag.. and got the Crumpler Industry Disgrace neck strap.

Sorry to hijack the thread as well 10-Dee-Q. :)

The strap is in town!!! May i ask how much did it cost you, rubber_duck?

As for your choice of bags,i'm not sure of the lowepro but i suggest u buy the 7 million instead of the 6 million. It's more value for $$. U can place a laptop inside comfortably while having ur camera n lens n if u play ard with the velcro dividers, u can also put more photographic stuff inside. :) I happen to own the 7 million. Get it from TK, it's cheaper than the crumpler shop.

wah u all are all super richx... one got 70-200 and 17-55 coming soon. den the other got extra cash for a nice neck strap. all i wish is to have enough $$ for flash~

bag, no $$, so DIY from a $14 waist pouch...

No $$ never mind. For the time being, get the $2 sponge bag from Daiso, wrap a t-shirt or sweater around the spongy bag b4 putting it into your haversack. I do that when i'm lazy to bring my camera bag out. Waistpouch wise...i have no idea how big is your waist pouch but do get the daiso bag as some protection is better than none. :)

oo sponge bag, under which section ar? i need to sponge the btm of my pouch to support the lens. and i wanna make 2 sponge cylinders and sew them to the side pouch to put lens. (alternative can get lowepro lens bag (small) and sew them on)

I dont remember which section, i'm sorry but you have to find them yourself. IIRC they are all hung up on racks. If u just want to "sponge" ur waist pouch, try searching for sponges then. Maybe u can try spotlight. Plaza Singapura has both spotlight n daiso. ;) However by the end of the day, try saving up for a proper camera bag. The cost of a camera bag is cheaper than fixing a broken camera. :)

I have Lowepro Fastpack 350 but find it too bulky and troublesome when changing lens.

I recommend both 6 & 7 MDH. I have both of them and love them.

Wow....you got the neck strap!!! Cool... How much is it?

problem for me with the 7 million was when i put in the grip for my d80! aiyoh when i carry i can feel it poking my back!

I didn't encounter any problem when carrying 6 or 7 MDH with my D300 and grip on. How did you position it?

Hi,

Yeah, fairly heavy, but not prohibitively so -- still OK for me even tho I'm not the athletic type :) Anyway it's fully loaded when actually travelling, but during the day trips I bring out only half the stuff.

hi, 7million owners, i'm interested in the 7million...
can the ef70-200f4 with hood fit into the 7million?

Shouldn't be a problem, but depends on what other stuff you are going to put in the bag.

I love it too.... wanted to get the bag.. end up buy the neck strap...:sweatsm:

Today went to TK to check the bags out. Wah its so big, and I though it was going to be like collapsible but I doubt so since all camera bag have a framework.

TK Price :
6M - $140
7M - $150

Hardwarezone is having a MO. A bit cheaper

I couldn't decide to get 6M or 7M ended up not getting any. I would prefer a smaller bag but the price for value between those 2 are too obvious to be ignored.

sorry if this is off topic. would like to know hows the 6/7 million dollar compare to lowepro nova 3 and 4 AW? I believe crumpler doesn't have a pull over water proof cover.

Crumpler certainly look more fashion and probably slimmer but the nova are less than 50% of the price and the bags primary function are meant to be used as camera bag, unlike crumpler which pay more attention to make theirs like everydays bag.

so which bag are better suited to be used as camera bag? in terms of protection and convenient, I'm not really bother about if there go along with my outfit but purely as camera bag.

TIA.

I'm working adult...but got family to take care too..
anyway cannot every time keep buying later my FC will piss off...

Actually every time she ask how much that cost... most of the time, I'll tell her abt 30%
off the original price..... hee hee...

Anyway quite intereted your DIY waist pouch.. kindly share with me..
I like to DIY stuffs too... But now don't really have time to do it...

cos I had a shoulder bag is quite big and very cheap too... abt Sin$20.
but not really using it...so need your idea so I could may be do the same thing with my bag too....
so can save up more $$$ for other stuffs example Lens, flash, remote....
