A new one will cost around $1200 in Cathay Photo, the black version will cost more.
As for used one, it is quite rare to come by so I am not too sure of its price.
Hope it helps.

ok, its it the 'sharpest' point and shoot film camera?

Definitely~!
used price is ard $600-$700 for the titanium color.

Slightly qualified to answer this question since I have a T3 and used to have a Ricoh GR1; and also used to have a Pentax Espio which died.

All my point and shoots have been fixed focal lengths as I firmly believe that a puny, teensy zoom on a P&S is too much of a quality compromise.

The Contax T3 easily gives the sharpest, most detailed and lifelike color of all the 3 P&S I have used. Subjective, I know, but obviously based on personal usage.

My wife now uses the T3 and she always comments that her pictures are sharper and clearer than mine taken on SLR/DSLR (of course, terms like DOF, Bokeh, selective focus, artistic blur doesn't have any meaning to her ;p :D ).

oh, lust factor very high now, esp on the black model! need to keep my tongue-frimly in check!!! anyone selling???

I use the Contax TVS III, with zoom range of 30-60mm. I find the image excellent, better than SLR too. The range lets me choose between landscape or closerup for taking pics of people. I saw the Contax TVSII on sale at TCW.

I use a T3, and people can't tell the difference in the shot quality with other SLRs.

The greatest thing about it is that is very portable, as well as well built.

I got mine second hand from kenghor about a year back, and it has not given me problems... i got it around 800.. mint condition.

however, one of my gripes is that it is fixed lens lah... sometimes you just wish to have the ability to zoom in on certain subjects

I had a T3 before. Bought it at about $1200 but sold off after 2-3 years at a low price. My advice is to go for Leica Minilux as Leica is more well known and can fetch better 2nd hand price.

i used a leica minilux b4,metering is terrible.AF sux..
T3 beat it flat.

Beg to differ.

Metering is perfect, I shoot slides and am happy with the exposures.

AF is a little slower, but wouldn't call it sux.

However, the small viewfinder sucks-- compare to the large viewfinder of the T3.

Size sucks as well-- when I put in my pants pocket, people think I have a brick or something.

But it's got the best and fastest lens of any P&S, and the new CM has the same too, with a much smaller form factor.

I have to agree that the viewfinder of Leica Minilux is small and dim as compared to Contax T3.
It is also a known fact Leica Minilux does not have the ability to switch off the the flash as default. It is annoying to press a few switch just to switch the flash off everytime you on the camera.

would dearly love to own one, but no $$$

Go for the Contax T3! It is alot better choice than the Lecia Minilux. I used to own a Lecia Minilux. Bought it second hand. After shooting with it, the metering suck big time.(shooting with slides) The slides either come out under expose or over expose. Just my 2 cents worth. :)

Surprised to see so many T3 enthusiasts here. My opinion is that it is the sharpest Contax PnS, and definitely one of the sharpest PnS that you can find now. I have heard from many other who have used the Minilux and the CM who think that the images are better on the Leicas, but still settled for the T3. The benefits are that the T3 has a relatively small form factor, much shorter focal length, able to use filters and has other useful accessories like the semi hard case.

How nice would it be if they make one with a hotshoe on it to enable us to use powerful flash..
But then again, doesn't look nice liao.

i think you can attached an external flash via a flash gun style, attaching the base.
