This is not buy and sell section. Do your sales else where

Actally not true, I called a few shops and they're still quoting 380, 388 etc. But we never know, cause it's out of stock. They may suddenly raise prices when stock arrives...

Enough of excessive OT bring your discussion of prices to the consumer section. Confine your discussion to the technicals and performance of the lens. If ot I will close this thread

Ok, sorry.
Tried out the lens yesterday and found that the CA is very obvious wide open. And also too soft, softer than kit lens. It gets better at 2.5-2.8 though.
And to my surprise, 17-55 was also rather bad wide open, although not as bad. I guess all lenses will have some degree of CA when wide open.

I think the CA is probably due to the absence of any ED glass inside. Can you post ur sample shot here? Although sharpness is important, but CA is also a big issue to produce quality image

yesterday i borrow from my friend 35mm f/1.8G brand new.
he just bought it new lens with D60. hehe
i try it to compared with my 50mm f/1.4D color.
so i just know what's the new lens technology.
below the picture is taken from 35 & 50mm

50mm VS 35mm AF-S G

so look like the color more heavy then older version 50mm f1.8 or 1.4D
but i still dunno the new 50mm 1.4G.

picture continue below.

he also find in s'pore island wide, still cant get..
so he when out JB and get, but also limited unit.

icic... thanks. mine warranty card is owner copy, need to register warranty on nikon website

so like that , in m'sia copy is wihout register, n got problem just fill in only.
n the date for purchase by when got problem.
if no problem it's still consider brand new right??
i also dunno it thing, my friend told me it.

Wow, the image look sharper and more saturated with 35mm lens, although it is not fair to compare at different f-stop...
But I still wonder how the performance of this lens with D40, D40x or D60 since the CA is auto correct with a more advanced processor in D300

Wa just called to enquire on the availability, aik seng quoted me 395 at first. when i wanted to reserve one peice he went to check stock and when he came back he said there is but it's 450 now. price jacks up by so much in a min???

Waaa. selling higher than Sugggest retail price. Bloody hell. Its like that one, they see they can take advantage, they will take advantage. Supply and demand.

I am going to pass on this lens. No point rushing in with the rest of the crowd. For now I will shoot with my 50mm f1.8D. Happy camper for now. Maybe a couple years down the road, I may decide to buy it. Not now I say. It is not a must have anyway.
