Any way to get white ? if order online . from USA or Hong Kong ... will it have International warranty ? ^_^

Unfortunately not.. no international warranty for panny..

if you buy from B&H or adorama, you can get their extended international warranty. What happens is that if you have issues, you call the USA hotline and report the problem. They basically
will ask you to take to your nearest authorised service centre (which is panny in singapore) and you pay for the repair then claim back from them..

If buy from B&H or adorama , the extended warranty is count by 1+2 years or 1+4 years ? first year faulty . will need to go back Panasonic ? . sorry I'm totally new here :)

Any SG friends want to get white / brown also ? ~_~ any idea to share ?

After some shooting using G3 and the new Oly 45mm yesterday, all I can say I am utterly impressed!!! :sweatsm:

Comparing with EP3, GF3 and Nex5N, this G3 sensor seems to cope with low light very verY veRY vERY VERY well!!!

Initial impression seems to show that for the same scene, same lighting, the G3 performs almost on par with the superb 5N till ISO3200, afterwhich 5N pulls away cleaner at higher ISO due to bigger sensor.

EP3 and GF3 performs almost similar, at ISO1600 can see that noise suppression is quite high and images appears soft, whereas G3 and 5N are sharp and still quite clean all the way till ISO3200 and 6400 is still useable.

In summary, for those who care less about 5N due to lousy and lesser native lens options, G3 might be your only solution to enjoy all the sharp nice lenses of m4/3 and yet can have the same ISO performance of an APSC sensor.

Good job to Panny for this sensor. It seems like G3 is the neglected darkhorse as EP3 seems to have stolen all the limelight while not many people knows how good this nice camera can perform.

Hi, do you have 20mm f1.7 ? any comment you have G3+20mm f1.7 vs G3+45mm , especially on the AFS speed ? Would the G3 focus as fast even with oly latest lens ?

The 45mm still focus faster, almost similar to the 14mm and 12mm.

20mm still is the slowest among all panny lenses so far. I believe it badly needs to be updated to mk2 with newer AF motor as it is the only negative about this lens.

So far the G3 focus speed is similar to GF3 and EP3, can't really tell the difference (tested with 20, 12, 14, 45, 14-42 both panny and oly, 45-200). However I do note that EP3 tends to hunt more in dimly lit condition, whereas the Panny can still focus quite well on same occasion.

noted, thanks. tot G3 and 20mm are both Panny, would gel better than G3 + oly 45mm.
20mm is one of the very 1st batch of Panny m4/3 lenses. the motor is not up to date, a noisy AF sound and not optimised for video.

Is there such things as hidden menu in G3, where I can check the shutter count?

Googled but the information doesn't apply or I not sure how to get it work on the G3. :embrass:

Thanks for the poisonous update :D
G3 does seem the dark horse, most places only like to talk about EP3.

Any comment on MF using the EVF?
Does the super-imposed zoom in window at 3x work better than the older method of the whole 5x and 10x zoom?

I'm considering this cam or a 45/1.8.
The G3 with EVF may let me use more MF lenses (eg/ 35/2; 50/1.4), however, the 45/1.8 has AF and with it, I have a complete lens range for my needs and won't really need MF lenses.

The funniest part is all the talk about the so-called superior build of the EP3 when in truth, if one opens up the interior, it's largely plastic. So the superior build is only skin-deep.

Yes. In fact, whatever EP3 can do, G3 does it better and it's cheaper as well. In photos and videos, G3 deserved to be called the king of m4/3 as of now.

Let me later post some high iso comparison shots of G3 with EP3, GF3 and Nex5N to make your decision easier. :)

dpreview has the compariosn http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicdmcg3/page17.asp
i am convinced that G3 has a better control of ISO when compared to EP3, but for my eye, slightly below Nex5N.

look forward your compariosn.

Actually that I don't care too much. I got K5 w/ fast prime lenses for high iso if really need, but I seldom take high ISO photos anyway. To me GF1 is good enough for kids and family photos, that's what I take mostly nowadays. The only thing I like on G3 over GF1 is the EVF, but I still prefer the size and look of GF1, and it seems to be better built too.
