[ Coming Product ] : Panasonic GH2

Hi KTi

Congrats on your Christmas present!!! Hope to join you soon. ;)

Heard from dpreview forums that gh2 battery is different from the previous G series.

New battery is DMW-BLC12. Older battery in G1/G2/GF1/GH1 is BLB13.

hope to join u soon, with a 14-140mm kit.. bleah. Congrats!

Collected my free gifts from Panasonic today.

1 piece of 16gb Kingston class 4 SD card
1 set of Panasonic travel kit (blower, brush)
1 Steinzeiser SZ-88 tripod

The SD card comes in handy. Also was told to register my product online to get additional 3 months of warranty. Cool.

got my 14-42mm set from Harvey Norman Raffles City at $1499 cuz i opted to pay via installments (most other shops dun provide anything more than 24 mths). I was given 2 x 8GB SD cards and the camera bag. Which surprised me cuz was only expecting 1 x 8GB. Decided on this kit as i have an Oly 12-55mm MKII so shall stick to that since i've paid so much for it already.

They couldn't find a matching LCD protector tho, so had to cut one for me. The LCD protector was free.

Played with the camera with the existing battery and found it to be a really sophisticated camera with lotsa functions. So far the lens is pretty sharp and AF is fast, and i love AF Assist Lamp which was sorely missing on my E-P1, EVF is extremely sharp, Built in flash does a decent job too. Touch-shutter function is very handy.

Dun like the strap tho. very cheap feeling. wanna replace that.

More reading and trying out to go. a lot of new icons that i'm not used to.

Cheers!

If there's such spare/OEM battery available, I'd certainly get one.

Happy New Year to all,

Like to check with all the proud GH2 owners whether you face the similiar issue as mine. When I connected the HDMI cable from the camera to TV, I was able to view the shot in rec mode and when I pressed the playback button, I was also able to view the playback. Now when I tried to disable the playback button to return to rec mode, the whole screen in both camera LCD and TV went blank. Whatever buttons I tried cannot bring back the screen alive. When I turned off the camera, the power light continued to remain lit up. I had to remove the battery to restore the camera back. Does anyone has similiar experience? if so, how do you overcome it, or is my camera has problem with this function?

Read the manual for correct settings for playback through HDMI to TV. It is format playback or improper settings.

Have checked the playback settings and they are OK to me. Later I turned off the Viera Link and the camera functions normally on playback as it ought to. Thanks.

Anyone know what is the price now for GH2+14-140 kit? since that the xmas promotion is over is there anymore free gift from Panasonic other than the standard one?

Should be 2K+ ...maybe got new year gift? :P

wow search MS, TK, Parisilk, 3:16, etc the 14-140 kit no stock.. only left 14-42 kit... anyone know where might have stock plse pm me can? thanks..

with the E-PL2 out hopefully can divert some buyers off this one. hee.

I tried my Oly Zuiko 14-54mm on GH-2 via oly adaptor, strangely it looks bigger than when i used it on my E-P1. AF is slower and altho i haven't tried, it should be much noisier.

it has been that way since a week before Christmas. so my Christmas gift might become a chinese newyear gift. :(

In the end i got the 14-42 kit from parisilk... but manage to get a second hand but relatively new 14-140 from a fellow Cser and the total price make up to be reasonable... considering the weight different of these two lens i think i better equip with both for different usage.. :)

:thumbsup: Yes.. the 14-42 kit lens is still one of the smallest std zoom lenses for the panny m4/3 range.. I use it when I really want a small and light kit and dont need more than 42mm (84mm eq) zoom... the 14-140 is good for general walk about lens, but its heavier.. I interchange depending on what I'll be shooting..

The other thing to like of course is that the kit lens at 14mm is f/3.5. Which is better for low light if you are shooting at 14mm...

now.. for the 20mm.... and the new bright zoom...:bsmilie:
