[ Coming Product ] : Panasonic GH2

:thumbsup: Yes.. the 14-42 kit lens is still one of the smallest std zoom lenses for the panny m4/3 range.. I use it when I really want a small and light kit and dont need more than 42mm (84mm eq) zoom... the 14-140 is good for general walk about lens, but its heavier.. I interchange depending on what I'll be shooting..

The other thing to like of course is that the kit lens at 14mm is f/3.5. Which is better for low light if you are shooting at 14mm...

now.. for the 20mm.... and the new bright zoom...:bsmilie:

Bro, what are you waiting for... get the 20mm and your lenses range is almost there.. haha.. the 20mm is the best in the pany range.. that's why i still keep it when i sold away my gf1 kit.. as for the new bright zoom, i guess we still have a long way to wait... According to parisilk's kelvin, he said that there will be more new and better zoom on development, one of which is 18-200(he heard about it when he went for panasonic's convention in japan) but he forgot what is the range & f-stop..

:bsmilie: .. saving up $$.. yes.. 20mm next ....;p

lol... I dont know if I need longer zooms.. after shooting for a while.. my style seems to be more Wide and lower light and mostly less than 200mm.. thats why i'm waiting until Chingay to see if my 14-140 is long enough or do I still need the 45-200...

looking more towards 20mm first, then probably the 12-50/f2.5-3.3 bright zoom.. then maybe oly 9-18..

I sell away my 45-200 right after I get the 14-140.. the 45-200 was sitting in the cabinet for 3 months and i only used twice... once for try try, the other time for zoo... hardly have other chances to use it.. 14-140 comes in much practical and handy i guess..

12-50 f2.5-3.3... ye ye that's the one lens to look forward to... :)

But 14-140mm, at low light really is very difficult to use. But using it in the day is a breeze.

That was my experience also.

I am alternating between the 9-18 and 20. Hardly touch the kit lens and now fighting over if I should buy the 100-300 for those special occasion when I need the reach. What I am afraid is that the lens will end up in my dry cabinet 99% of the time. For person with limited budget, it is quite challenging.

The GH2 is an amazing HD video camera for the price. Amazing how much technology has advanced in these few years. Could never imagine a product like this at its price point a few years ago.

Here is some GH2 HD footage shot with the tiny Pentax 25mm F/1.4 C-mount lens: GH2 Short Doc Film: 01.01.11 / Singapore

Stunning!!!

I bought the GH2 because it is to me the best m43 body there is today. I am no video person but what you have done is very nice. What software do you use to edit the video?

Haha. I go to some of our nature reserves sometimes. When I am there I would like to be able to capture whatever small animals or insect that only long reaching tele can get. One of the other reasons I am holding back is the lens is not fast enough, it needs good light and I hate to carry tripod. Anyway see how might succumb sooner than I can reason. :bsmilie:

Anyone here try legacy SLR manual focus lenses on the GH2? I own a bunch of OM SLR lenses, from 24mm to 200mm and use them for my Canon FF DSLR. Thinking of this camera to use with my range of lenses as a back-up, you guys have any experience?

Just get the right adapters and you're good to go.
But you'll not have AF and stabilization, it's all manual.

Thanks, I know that, but wishes to find out how they will render on the GH2, so asking those with experiences. Also read at FM that it's EVF is excellent for manual focusing. Now tossing between this and the EPL2 where I need to add cost of an EVF but will have IBIS.

Shot with G1 and Nikkor SLR lenses 28f2.8ais and 105f2.5, basically the same as GH2 which i have upgraded to, definitely need a EVF to focus fast. The GH2 has the benefit of just pressing the rear thumb wheel and you get magnified viewing on the EVF while in shooting position.

Great and love your shots with the 2 legendary Nikkor lenses. How I wish you have some shoulder or head portrait shots with the 105f2.5 as I have this lens and it renders beautifully on my EOS 5D. Many thanks.

Excellent. Fantastic color rendition on the bird shot, and you have some cute little monsters. I am about 90% sure of what I want now. Just want to wait for the EPL2 to be released and see the difference.

Look out for the panny G3 thats going to be release soon also;)

Like to know what are the good bokeh lens for GH2 for taking portrait photos. I read Lumix 20mm f1.7 is good but are there others that are comparable or better. Thanks.

There is the Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4. Its a 4/3rds lens though, which means you need a 4/3 to m4/3 adaptor. It is also quite $$$. If you can wait, Panasonic will be coming out with a 25mm f1.4 for m4/3.

From Olympus, there is the 17mm f2.8 (m4/3) and 50mm F2 (4/3).

Of course, if you are willing to use manual (non-autofocus) lenses with an adapter, there are a lot of choices out there.
