comex a33 got problem, SONG Brothers refuse exchange!!!

Ah yes, but Sony camera sales at Comex were handled by Song Brothers. (*(*!&*&~!

I was sooooooo reluctant to pay for my 550.

Hi Maja06, what is the main reason why you still bought 550 from SONG brothers in the end since you are so reluctant to pay.

Im quite confused by your action.

Yes!!! i was really surprise that Sony let Song brothers to handle their sales.
But i think Sony is not the only one, other big brands as well as i came across Song brothers from previous IT fairs. :thumbsd: to Song Brothers!

Then there must be a valid reason why other big brands hand the Fair to Song brothers.

This is one more reason why people should not be buying camera stuff from the computer shows. Stuff selling at near RRP, useless freebies and lousy vendor that you have no control over which to patronize.

Hi Tan, have you realize that if from what you mention the freebies is useless, why do there still majority of people buying from the computer show.

Are you trying to hint something to us.

Or: there must be a reason why other brands don't go to the fair but instead just use a local retailer.
Btw: did you only join to somewhat defend the Singsong Brothers? All your 7 posts are here in this thread.

The more I read, the more I'll boycott any IT shows. Last one was like 13 years ago at WTC.

Now got at least 4 a year. Their reputation really drop.

I treat our local IT Show like IT PASAR MALAM.

I wonder why thousands throng these shows expecting good deals. Never learn lesson from others.

Especially for cameras, go buy at CP, MSC or Sonystyle (Sony brand).

If die,die cannot resist ;p then at least do your homework and shortlist of items to buy. If I'm the TS, I'll skip Song Bros or AP even if they sell super cheap.

When shop sell expensive, people complain, when shop sell cheap, people also complain.
Sounds funny.

Because these people don't know that the freebies are actually not much worth. We see plenty of these freebies popping up in Buy&Sell, hardly any picks. And we have plenty of people coming here, inquiring about Steinzeiser filters, Vitacon adapters and other items of questionable use but mostly infamously inflated prices .. and getting damn frustrated about the results. There must be a reason why all these freebies are always thrown out at such fairs or in shops of questionable reputation. I haven't seen any Steinzeiser or Vitacon stuffs at those shops I frequent. I guess there is a good reason about that ...

I think in the end, it comes down to who are willing to front the money for the rental of the booths during the IT shows. Established 'reputable' stores have enough business that they do not need to pay extra to run a booth at IT shows.

Hi daredevil123, seriously if you don't mention it, i really don't know that the stores has to front the money for the rental of the booths during the IT shows. Doesn't the vendors paid for it since they want to promote their own products.

But when i think it in another ways, could it possible that are you one of the personnel from those established 'reputable' stores that are jealous of those who are willing to front the money for the rental of the booths.

I do agreed with you, but when i compare some of the stuff selling at the Fair is actually more worth than buying at retail stores. Maybe people have to do some research first before making their mind to buy at the Fair.

Seriously im new here, just came across some interesting comments given by the people here so log in to give my own opinion too.

But if the Singsong Brothers makes mistakes, they should make amends for it.

Flea market and pasar malam also need to pay rental, you say Suntec Convention Centre need to pay rental or not? You think anyone will just let you use the venue, make your margin, while they have to pay for the overheads, and extra manpower costs for such a show, and not get anything in return?

but seriously, I dont know if you are really a newbie, or your surname is Song. You are in a photography forum and so many forumers are saying its not so advisable to get cameras from IT fairs. If you still want to buy at IT fairs, just go ahead. Its really nobody else's business.

Why should the reputable shops be jealous, go take a look in SLS on weekends, compare the crowd in AP and other shops, thats why more reputable stores don't need to front the rentals for IT shows.

Boon06 I strongly suggest you look at the links in my signature, and look at my posts, before shooting your mouth off with utter nonsense such as this.

And boon06, if you do not know that rental needs to be paid by IT shows by the stores running the booths, you must not know much about the industry. I strongly suggest you start keeping these comments to yourself before you make yourself look more and more like a fool.

Are you trying to hint something to us.

Simply because there are many ignorant people around. From your valuation of the free gifts in your comments, seems like you are one of them too.

Im sure there is no such thing as it is safe to buy from reputable shops. No matter how good a reputable shop can perform, there is bound to have some complain against them.

True. But they are still better than Song brothers where the complaints outnumber praises many many many many folds. ;)

Of course i know the rental has to be paid, but read my question carefully, why must the rental be paid by the stores instead of the big brands. Since the big brands want to promote their own products.

If i keep all the comments to myself and don't learn from the mistake i make, then forever i will be a fool. Thanks for enlighten me. I rather be a fool for once than a fool forever.

True too, but never did i say that Song brothers is better than them.

True there are many ignorant people around, but same thing again, i never say that all Fair free gifts is better than those in the retail store.

In my own opinion, I do comparison between retail store and Fair in terms of free gifts given and price quoted.

Lets take an example, if im looking for a 'X' laptop selling at retail store for $1000 with a free upgrade to 2GB RAM but Fair is selling it for the same price but free upgarde to 4GB RAM. So u think i should buy at retail store or at the Fair ?

But matter of the fact, camera bodies have been selling at RRP (MSRP) at shows and fairs. While in the stores, you can get a significant discount.

We are talking about camera equipment here are we not?
