Are there going to be discounts on photographic stuff?

I'm not sure. The expo is not primarily or mostly a retail expo. I believe it is more of product demonstration and free samples. You could also take this opportunity to know which photographic companies and studios exist in Australia.

Two years ago, Fujifilm offered free prints using their Fuji Frontier. My guess is that you could put some photos on your USB or memory card and bring it along, just in case.

Meanwhile for those who are interested in night street photography (@#@# winter)... I might busk (dance) tomorrow evening (although it supposed to start at 5...it usually kick off around 5.30) if my work permits. There should be poppers, lockers, and hip hoppers. I should not be hard to spot with my dog tags and dragon~ lol

Hahaha! I wasn't carrying a big camera, but I was carrying a tripod. I wasn't stealthy, but there was quite a big audience so you may not notice.

Anyhow, do remember that PMA is this weekend.

Well-known branded consumer electronic products are unlikely to be cheaper in Australia than in Singapore. If you buy from a grey importer (such as camerasdirect.com.au) or duty-free, then maybe.

I was at the PMA show here in Melbourne last Friday. All in all....its a very simple crowd with main activities on that day evolving around on the Photo Competition live judging. Was there the whole day. Attended some of the lessons e.g by Visible Light, got some networkings too.

The show gave some feel on the overall digital imaging & print scene and direction here in OZ in general. Key players such as Kodak and Fuji on their kiosks solutions. With Other companies like Noritsu and some other alternative ink suppliers.

One thing that I personally observed that close to half of the competition photos are Dave Hill a.k.a HDR type of prints. Well maybe that might end up to be the the mainstream these days.

Well at least got a free water bottle from VL. .

Sorry all. I was there at PMA on Saturday with my colleagues, but changed my mind about going down on Sunday. I spent the whole Sunday and the next few days after fixing/reformatting/reinstalling my virus-infected computer. Virus-writers should be castrated.
