I was having a 3-day 2-night camp from last Wed to Fri at my school where I'm teaching.
I can't get to sleep at night, so i decided to go night photography with my 1000D. All photos are taken with the EF-S 10-22mm. This lens very powerful! Feel free to C&C...
I have to say that our national schools are all well designed when compared to other secondary schools in this Asia Region.

proud owner of my 1000D for 2 weeks
Would love to go S. Buloh on the 31st.. i want to go b4 the season for the migratory birds are over. Not sure if i would be free though. Will cfm again when the date draws nearer.
A little question here:
any1 here bought a cable release for the 1000D? Will the Phottix remotes work for it? or should i just build 1 for myself?
hi supermoo... the phottix remote works perfectly on our 1000D. I just got one recently from reddotphoto. cos a minimal sum and has a 1yr warranty. I think this remote is compatable with the 450D as well.

I got some bad news. My 1000D is now out of action due to the very regular appearance of Err99. I can't take any pictures without taking the battery in and out of my 1000D. My poor 1000D is now at the Canon Service Center (CSC) and it will stay there for about 1 week. Therefore I will miss the Sungei Buloh Outing that is going to be held this Saturday morning (31st Jan 2009 @8am).
You all have two choices.
Choice 1: Scrap the outing. (only 3 people so far anyway)
Choice 2: Carry on shooting guys... May the 1000D be with you all!
Either way... I am planning the third outing already. Please suggest the genre, venue, date and time. :think:

I've decided to withdraw from the planned Sungei Buloh outing, and going to the Sentosa Flowers show instead cos the last day is on Sunday.. Hope the weather's fine tmr.. My apologies in advance..
And Chief Mahathir, hope your 1000D comes back a leaner, meaner machine.. Well, error-free at least hehe.. :bsmilie: And one suggestion for the next outing is to postpone this Sungei Buloh for the next one, or go somewhere else if no one's going for this one.. Maybe, the Botanical Gardens, or the Zoo.. Cos there are no upcoming events like the Sentosa Flowers one as yet..

What happenning...:bsmilie: U make me scared reading the thread u post..i havent come across yet err99. And on ur thread, there;s sum1 saying- using a 3rd party lens will cause the error to appear too.. wah...(I was thinking of buying a Tamron or sigma soon-zoom lenses, tired of changing lens on the move. Then i will sell my kit lens...hehe).
K, lets make up for a next outing when ur camera is good to go.
I was thinking of being a bit artistics, Doing streets shots or shooting old building.hhehe
Hey, anyone here know about flash photography...hehe. I just bought a flash from my bro-in-law. a big classic look flash. I find it cool and suits my budget.
Its a Vivitar 285HV,Check it out in the internet k. I read alot about flash photography.
Its quite tidious and from my point of view of reading,,seems like i really need to be good in mathematics..hahaha,,if i want to learn flash fotography, but all dis got plus minus la. I think i need sum1 who knows more on flash photography. So can learn from them.
K..back to outing. I hope my chief mahathir..will organize a new upcoming outing soon,
So our fellow 1000d user can meet up again to share experience and exchange knowledge,
What i suggest is to go for street shots..took photos on landmark. or chasing the sunset should be fun,,,
remember..the more the merrier.

Yo bro.. I own a Sunpak PZ42x.. You might wanna read up on flash photography and maybe we could discuss it further when we meet up sometime.. Its good to even trial and error for a start.. Get to know the flash and how it works with your camera, on-camera and off-camera.. And also the manual flash settings..
