that is really fantastic news.

but i thought the launch date is tomorrow, how can the EM5 arrive at Japan stores today.

Anyway, hope our local shops got stock by next week.

The Japan stores probably got the stocks in today, but are asked to hold release till tomorrow.
Some stores probably jumped the gun by releasing it this evening, thinking that it makes no difference.

Actually I have been in contact with Olympus, so I more or less know when the stock's coming in. And no.... it's not next week.
Still waiting for a double confirmation from them, so I better not say too much now.

Yeah.... same here. My trip's on 13 April. Most likely it's not in time, but I'm getting them to double confirm. Hopefully a miracle happens. :(

Anyone pre-ordered from Courts@IT show? Need to call Steven Koh?

Steven says he's still checking with Olympus for me. Funny how I can get a date from Olympus but Courts as a major customer can't. :dunno:

They told me early April! not mid-April!!!

AAAaaaargh!

tomorrow countdown to 00:00 01-Apr-12 and start bombing steven liao :s13:

You guys should have got hold of that Malay guy because I felt he was only friendly ones. The rest of the courts staff were like totally not friendly. I know because I bought my EPL1 from him in Court last time, he was the one who matched the lowest competitor's price without even asking anymore question.

I feel for the guys that pre-ordered from the IT Show from Courts and promised a first week of April delivery date.

Hate this kind of sale tactics employed by giving out in-accurate information and forcing consumers to part with their money on the spot from all the pressure and hard-selling. Based on the Pre-Order, those at the IT Show paid the highest price literally. They were being told their delivery will come in the first week of April and they had to pay the official retail price of S$1899. When I was there i remembered one of the guys trying to hard-sell by saying if I pay in full now, he can push for me to get the cam in the first week even though the first week pre-order is closed.

Glad that I pre-ordered from SLRR at $1698 and was told first shipment will arrive on 3rd week of April, which I am hoping it does.

Guys that pre-ordered from Courts, I suggest all of you to go stir them or even share the sales staff number in this forum so all can just keep calling them to follow with them. Give them some pressure and say that the main consideration when you entered into this purchase was the first week delivery which is why you guys are willing to pay a premium over street price (which is roughly S$1,700- S$1,780) and demand for either a discount (which they most prob wont give) or more useful freebies (like dry-box or something). Else you will be paying an extra of S$150.00-S$200.00 as compared to street price and Courts will still be the biggest winner and will continue to apply these unfair ethics in sales.

Its time consumers speak up to these big organizations.

They now learn that it is never wise to buy anything other than commodity, mass-market products from any technology fair. By that I mean television sets, entry-level to midrange notebook computers, small-sensor point-and-shoot cameras, etc. Enthusiast or niche products are best bought from dedicated stores outside of fairs. For example, I would go to a camera store to buy a m4/3 camera, or to a computer component store to buy a graphics cards. Never buy these things at fairs even if they are available.
