Wah 100-300. That is an effective 200-600. OMG

Wow...nice with the big zoom.. by the way wonder what kind of material is used on the Silver body especially the grip area. Looks like some leather material compare to the Black body.. worry if it will peel off after sometime when exposed to rain, sun and sweat, if its really leather.

How long batt charging for 1st time? getting the black one from SLRR tomorrow....

i'm torn between silver and black...

black with the texture not nice...

silver with black buttons not nice...

ahhhhhh.....if have silver with all silver buttons then it would be perfect for me!

anyway i think i will get the silver

All silver would not look like OMs. They always had some black parts. Black OM lenses have some silver and so do some black bodies. Mixed black and silver is more authentic. ;)

Someone already selling e-m5 in buy and sell.. Wif mmf3 some more.. Wtf.. Lol.. Hurry go and grab!

I wld not bring the 14-42x. But I suppose it's such a small n light lens it hardly makes a difference to you.

It is for the GX1 in case OMD run out of battery by the evening for night video....

Very nice cam. This is my first pre-order, without ever touching the cam before purchase. No regrets!

Many thanks to the good people at MS Color!

Actually, for Li-ion batteries, no need to charge for 8 hrs. 4hrs should give u full charge. Thereafter, the charger will stop supplying current. There is no trickle charge for Li-Ion. Anyway, the manual didn't mention any 8 hrs or more first time charge. I believe the long first charge thing is more for NiMh batteries.

Some references :
First charging of Li-Ion batteries
Battery Dos and Don'ts

Just do not let the battery discharge fully, it'll go to sleep and become unusable. It is dangerous to overcharge (more current or voltage).

As usual, the standard time of charging new battery should be 8 hours.

He sound like he is gonna make a profit out of it by asking people to offer him. Well, maybe those rich and impatient will buy from him at a premium.

It's called a capitalist system. :).

Every sales rep says this on all batteries but it is no longer applicable for the current generation of batteries.

a lot of folks knows how much he bought it he cant make a profit unless he sold the cam in pieces e.g. MMF3, lens and body. I think he's ok break-even not just a lost i guess.

Yes me too being told by salesman about charging 1st time for 8 hours. At least I could zzz more than containing my excitement of twitching my fingers on Em-5 if I knew it could be fully charged after 4 hours.Hee...

The manual says charging time is approximately 4 hours. But I let mine charge 8 hours for the first charge.

everyone else saying that including HP sales rep.

The truth is newer Oly charger and Battery like those BLS5 has a built in battery full charge chip that will auto cut the charging. What is best to do with your new batteries is charge them full 1st time then drain them until 0% if possible then charge them full again this it will reset your battery and will give you a much accurate battery gauge reading. And once a while you do this "Tapping Charge" Fully charge the battery remove from battery charger insert to you camera turn it on for few mins doing nothing (standby) then put it back again to the charger. Do this once a while to maximize your battery then maybe once a month or every two months you full empty your battery before charging.

For newer battery try to avoid draining it below 10-20% in between charging.
