Am I taking a risk by not pre-ordering, if I want to bring an EM5 with me to Europe in mid-May?

My rational mind tells me to wait for the full reviews of the production model, but my heart is telling me to go place the order now.

Listen to your mind, it is usually the smarter one. For me, I am waiting for full review too even though I am definitely buying it.

I pre-ordered through JX already. I have researched extensively on the OMD and previously GX1 (and m4/3 in general). Unless there is a showstopper problem, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it.

I am now considering what lenses to get for the system. Probably kit 12-50, 9-18 and 20/1.7. Maybe 25/1.4 or even 25/0.95 later on if I find the need for speed.

get the 25 1.4... no horse run...
sometimes i wished its a 20 1.4 or better still 17 1.4.... as i am more comfy with 35mm FL

Exactly! I feel cooled off already...in fact...getting a bit irritated by the launch date. Ahh...maybe I won't rush to buy the body. Wait for price to drop then buy.

You're really cooled off when you become indifferent about the launch date. You are irritated by it because you care about it a lot. Is my analysis correct?

I am not totally cooled off, but I have stopped scouring the Internet for anything and everything I can find about the E-M5. Notwithstanding, this is really one camera that got my attention. Much more than either the GX-1 or the X-Pro1.

As long as I get to bring it (instead of my heavier 60D) to my 3-week Europe trip in May, I'm satisfied. Of course it'll be nice to have it earlier so that I can familiarize with it and buy whatever lenses (UWA? Fast standard prime?) and accessories necessary.
