That's the price for 2 clamps haha in case you guys thought is for 1. I bought one for S$4.20, free (slow) shipping that usually takes 2 - 3 weeks to come, I ordered mine last week. Well Sgcamerstore has reduced the price to $8 now so if you guys want immediate stock $8 might be worth the 2-3 weeks of waiting.

i have decided to get the capta cos it can work with most phones n my current casing.
but b4 that i going to run some vids tests on ip4s 1st.

Because it is different seller? There are more than 1 model available for the clamp. I didn't get the "L" shaped clamp Ortega showed because it doesn't fit my galaxy S so I got another version which is just "1 - axis " clamp. The "L" shaped is what I named as 2 axis clamp, vertically and horizontally.

I think with a sturdy table tripod it is good for macro shots...Not sure if the clamp can be mounted on other ball heads or not....maybe Ortega can answer this?

Got my another version of the clamp and here are two snapshots

As mentioned, I chose this design because I am not sure if the one Ortega uses fits my fatter Samsung Galaxy S. However after a few minutes of testing I found out this model is inferior to the other.

1) If your tripod is not sturdy the whole camera can be off balance in first picture as the camera weight is not on top of the ball head.

2) If you want to use it for macro shots (with the lens Ortega is selling) then the camera is actually "behind" the tripod and the tripod may obstruct the camera from getting close to the subject.

3) Use your imagination: This clamp fails when mounted onto 3 way pan head.

For additional information the clamp is "spring based", means it will auto retract and clamp your phone tight.

Oh well might order Ortega's version and see if it fits my samsung...if not I have 2 choices:
a) give the 2nd version to my gf who has iphone
b) CHANGE TO IPHONE!!!!

Correction: You can mount my version of clamp to 3 way pan head without using the fisheye lens. Since the fisheye lens will capture part of the tripod in your screen.

P.S my head becomes 2 way because I lost one of the handles during one of my trekking activity....if you know where can I get the handle pls let me know.

Appreciate it if you could check if it fits with the Samsung Galaxy S2 also.

The S2 is 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm.

Searched from ebay site on specs of the "2-axis" clamp: width " 4.5 to 6.2 cm " and length "7 to 8.5"

Samsung S1 dimention: "122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm "

So possible to mount it since difference is 2 mm but my camera might not stand up right, need to make it incline abit so that the "vertical height" is within 6.2cm. (Use trigonometry to calculate angle of inclination LOL).

Samsung S2: Wider but thinner (irony) would have a harder time.

This design suits galaxy S's better but more expensive.

I have checked out Joby iPhone clamp at CP.
the guy told me they r not bringing the item any more
Also he told me the "clamp" has a prob. If screen protector is applied = cannot use.

I have tried the tripod clamp that I have and would not recommend anything wider than an iPhone 4 with a case. Will post more pictures tonight
