$25 to30. the original strap in the bundle is not padded like the OptechUSA camera straps.

espn said:I got my optech camera strap at $20 from CP, you should be able to get it cheaper if you bargain, I was a tad lazy since it's NY's eve that day.
My advice for CF card is to go for at least a Lexar, after formatting it 3 times, I'm still able to retrieve up to 300 shots taken since the formatting. A Lexar 1GB @ Eastgear last price is $480/-.
A cabinet is important because your lenses collection will grow and a box will not contain them anymore. A 50L @ Carrefour is about $88/-.

The D70 kit is abt $2100 incl GST, at CP.
I would suggest a 1GB CF but if budget restrictions are in place, a Hagiwara 1GB (orange) @ $360+, would be a cheaper option compared to Lexar @ $420 and Sandisk UltraII @$495.
The savings of $100+ can be use to get a 30L dry cabiniet as a starter.
The speed difference btw the Hagiwara and Lexar is not so noticeable in single shots, only in bursts of 4 RAW...ete, you will see the difference.
you will need a flash too, either the SB-800 or the SB-600 (Only available after May). which support the i-TTL is recommended.
Getting a DSLR is quite an hefty investment and hence, you can start by building up the kit slowly....
Getting alternatives like slower or normal speed CFs Vs High-speed ones, or getting a drybox with silica gel Vs dry cabinet, using 2nd hand lenses, flash and accessories...like camera bag instead of buying new ones.
You will be surprised at how much you can save, by considering alternatives instead of going for the best.

espn said:Dude, the $450 price is for a 1GB not 512.
Strap can buy later, lens cleaner not impt, a UV filter for lens protection more important. You'd prefer to clean the UV filter than clean lens cos of the coating on the element.
Join us for coffee tomorrow and we can tell you lots more! :devil:

Using Drybox instead = $30 + $3.50 (silica gel)
Use provided strap = $0
B+W Lens pen = $10
Blower = $10
2nd hand Lowepro bag (for example.. Nova series.1 or 2..) = $40-50
Total = $2563.50
Not including a SB-800 @ $650.
Can consider the B+W MRC 010 Haze UV filter, personally strongly recommend it... (yeah yeah call me a snob again...).naviseal said:any ideal how much is the UV filter cost and what types must i purchase? any brand to recommend? Thx.
I dun think i like the idea of cleaning the lens due to coating.

Compare the the Hoya and the B+W against a newspaper, you'll see the difference.
Depends on thread size.naviseal said:how much izzit for the B+W MRC 010 Haze UV filter?
