The problem is all these shops main targets are the foreign tourists.
The tourists will not stay for long, so they do not have the time to scout around.
And not forgetting those who never do any price researches and kena chop till jialat jialat.
Even if we boycott these shops, as long as they have a few walk in customers everyday, they can still survive.

i always buy dry box from them.. at an ok price.

That's the same with any store dude..If you know what you're buying and the worth of it, you can easily click a good deal with these shops

I agree with you. But it sad to think what these tourists think of Singapore (or any other Asian city) after they realize they've been cheated. We must be diligent at least within the photo community and not support these cheats.

One question.. if you can't trust the prices at these shops, can you trust the quality of the product? (i.e. whether it is returned/exchanged item or refurbished items or with missing components?)

As long as you can verify the authenticity of the equipment that you're buying (Local Warranty cards having the serial numbers mentioned on it) and ensure that the package is sealed (opened in front of you) with all the package items available mentioned in the box, I don't find any risk.
