I would like to say a warm hello to everyone here on behalf of Emjay Enterprises. We at Emjay hope to cultivate a warm and enduring relationship with all Pentexians here and the many whom we hope will join this forum and group in future.

About Emjay
Emjay Enterprises was established in 1972 and we are have become established distributors, wholesalers and exporters of consumer electronics in Singapore and the region. For consumer electronics products, our main distributionship rights is for Sanyo digital electronics products like digital still and video cameras, LCD projectors, voice recorders, household appliaces & others for the Singapore market.

Service
As for your products which require servicing, our service operations start from 1st May so I hope you can be patient. We are honouring warranties for products sold by Emjay Enterprises. All other products will be fixed for a fee.

Transition
Our sales & service operations start from 1st May. As you know, the brand has been dormant for the past 3 quarters but naturally, we intend to revive Pentex in Singapore and push it as far and hard as we can and hope that one day, it becomes a large and popular brand. Pentex has already has some new products in the pipeline and we hope to get them to market as soon as we possibly can.

few qns though.. does that mean that products bought while shriro is the distributor will not be covered under warranty? or have i misinterpreted you?

I am supposed to send 3 items - 1) K20D dslr for cleaning dust in viewfinder under still warranty, 2) loose tilt 540GZ flash under 1 year international warranty expire in July 2009, 3) FA50mmf1.4 lense is malfunctioning with no warranty. What darrrrr said just now, make me sweat...... Please advise when will the new service centre opened?

Yes... pricing is always key to the success of a product in the market but there are complex and difficult factors in play like exchange rates etc etc.

Yes, we are not able to honour warranties for products which were after all bought from Shiro. However, all products, Pentax or otherwise, bought from Emjay Enterprises in the local market will naturally be covered by our warranties.

Welcome to our friendly Pentax board! I also hope to see prices adjusted according to the international prices, as Shirio has done a terrible job with their insane prices. I have put off importing a K20D because I would like to support the local market, and this looks like the call I have been waiting for.

Ok, may I know if one year International warranty can be honoured? I did email to John Vigial from Pentax USA and he replied that one year international warranty can be honoured in any countries if people buy items from USA.

:think: Is this normal? Not really my concern as my Pentax stuff is all out of warranty anyway. But for those who bought a "local" set with "official" warranty rather than a grey set with "shop" warranty, aren't they left high and dry?

Reminds me (for the audio guys) of the recent case when Logitech bought over Ultimate Ears and announced that it would terminate all UE warranties on 1 June 09, regardless of purchase date.

The dust in the viewfinder is not cover under warranty. :cry:
