No it can't. 7D uses a new BG-E7 grip while 5D MK II uses BG-E6.

hm, okay, thanks
just wonder if backward compatable anotch. i know they got their own grip, but body size about 1mm diff?, and both use same battery, so hoping :) i prefer the new grip shape ;p

Actually, chances are I will get the 1DIII, refurbished set. Also cuz, yes, I reckon the next one would be damn pricey anyways....wait lor until I really need it.

That is pretty expensive, then again camera stuff in japan tend to be more expensive in my opinion so yeah

It's the other way around actually. As a rule of thumb, camera stuff in Japan, Hong Kong, and USA are cheaper than in SG.

So if $2.9k is the Japan price, SG price will easily be $3k++ :sweat:

Using Canon USA as a guide.

EOS 50D --> US$1,199 ~ S$1,738.55

EOS 7D --> US$1,699 ~ S$2,463.55

*US$ - S$1.45

As a matter of fact, Japan is very expensive to buy camera DSLRs as far as Canon is concerned.

Therefore, my feel that is that Canon Singapore will price it at S$2,699 as a SRP.

Do you expect xD dSLR to be cheap?

Not in Singapore unless Canon Singapore has over supply stocks.

Canon HK has already dropped the price of 1D mk III and 1Ds mk III.

7D uses another series of battery grip (BG-E7).... ;(

But the grip looks much better than other grips. It comes with a small LCD panel. Cool... but price wise could be :thumbsd:

the lcd is for the wifi grip .... :sweat:

Canon S'pore still very quite..... :thumbsd:

Woh! the lenses are interesting.
I am gonna to get myself a EFS 18-135 f3.5/5.6 IS ;p as a Walkabout/Holiday lens since I already owns a EFS 10-22 f3.5/4.5.I think this two complement each other well, basically covering anything for that purpose.
The EF 100 f2.8L Macro IS USM is also terribly tempting :lovegrin: But I guess the price is a little too high to be justifiable base on my usage (currently using a EF 100 f/2.8 Macro USM)

When is the EOS 7D coming to Singapore? :mad2:

As long as grip is different, cannot be used. Unless u're saying that the design of both body's bases are exactly the same.

The EF-S 15-85 kit more expensive than 18-200 kit?? Don't seemed so correct leh.

in canon camp, the small number means it is more advanced. 1D > 5D > 7D > 50D > 500D > 1000D. 7D is not one-level up from 5D (price-wise).

Maybe Canon will release a uber high-end EOS model that bears the name "0D". Then that means the next uber model will have to start with a "-ve" prefix. :P

not really true if you look at the 20D,30D,40D and 50D..
unless u compare by xxxxD,xxxD,xxD,xD then it might be true..

According to Canon USA's pricing, seems so, amazon selling it for US799, thinking of it the price is a turnoff and pretty ridiculous too
