- wu yia bo?? is this new? or other new cams also have?

50D has it.

hmm... assuming it retails at cam shops for 2.4k, would you buy this? or would you buy the 5DII? =P

Amazon has it listed at US$1699.99 and Imaging Resource mentions US$1700 so yeah.. that's it.

My guess is S$2599 RRP in Singapore, and perhaps S$2400 plus minus in your fave cam shops?

:Later,

If S$2400 S$2600 range, its affordable in my budget. Then I will skip to 7D.

It does tick a lot of boxes. But if you think about it, most of these boxes have been ticked by the d300 2 years ago. Now with the d300s I'm not sure if I will choose the 7d if they cost exactly the same. 7d trumps d300s in terms of megapixel and flexibility of video. D300s trumps 7d in terms of dual memory slot, 51 AF points and in camera CA correction with any lens. Personally I prefer the d300s feature set more than the 7d feature set. I'm a canon fan btw.

the af array on the 7d is a new af setup. not what nikon is doing. it is 19 cross points spread across the viewfinder. the d300s is a 15 cross point all lumped together in the centre. the 7d shoots at 8fps at 14 bits. the d300s shoots at 2.5fps. the 7d offers full hd in variety of resolution and fps with manual controls and af. the d300s? :dunno:

dual card slots is useful but nikon has lost the race this time round.

Canon has finally come out a reasonable good 1.6x crop DSLR. Remember, EOS 40D to 50D was not very exciting.

I guess that EOS 7D will be used to set the base for future models. Hence, the next replacement model for EOS 7D will not be that exciting.

If the price of EOS 7D is < $2,700, it will be very attractive. It won't be above $3,000 so as not to compete with EOS 5D mk II.

The best thing that i like about the EOS 7D is the 100% viewfinder coverage. Finally, Canon has incorporated the on-demand grid lines which Nikon has already incorporated donkey years ago.

7D is it FF?

The more I read they more I want this camera....!!!
But my wallet is crying now.....

Some key features of EOS 7D :

1) Dual processors like EOS 1D mk III

2) 8fps

3) 100% viewfinder coverage

4) HD Video recording

5) On-demand Grid Lines

6) Horizon-level indicator

7) Wireless flash transmitter

If you notice, isn't Nikon has already incorporated most of the features?

All depends on the image quality at low light ....

would it be on par with 5DMKII?

Seems like a bridge between xxD and 1D x series.

I was thinking going for a used 1D3 that will have (in comparison to 50D): more fps, faster AF, 100% viewfinder, full weather sealing, dual card features and 1.3 crop.

Sensors cannot change, and the 7D now sports 8fps and 100% viewfinder as well as partial weather sealing. The main test to pull me to either side will be the AF - hopefully the 7D AF will be comparable.

Why cry?

Life is short. No need to think so much. Just do it. ;p BBB.

this is cool.

canon is getting better, hate to admit it.

Not sure how Canon is going to playing their cards. But their best strategy is to dumb down the 60D features, lower the price, reduce size/weight so they can offer a direct competitor to the D90. However, I am not Canon CEO... :bsmilie:
