yeah....they were quite secretive about it. It was just nice that I was standing beside the door of the room where the BAGS were that I over heard one staff member calling (whisper) another staff to go check out the new 7D(And the respond from the other staff member was "here already meh...so fast?"). Unless there are other new 7D. Anyway, that room was stuff with Canon products..the Canon Red and white boxes (Not saying that the Camera Box is Red and white though). How long more before the 7D gets on sale is unknown.

Glad to hear this. I am also surprised the production stuff is already here.

I seem to get the feeling that Cathay promotes Nikon more than Canon. Or is it because there are more Nikon owners than Canon in Singapore? :bsmilie:

Anyway, I can't wait to purchase mine. Canon Singapore has yet to announce the RRP though.

Bro, you are not alone. $3,000 is already ready to spend on this new camera. :)

Are there really more Nikon owners than Canon owners in SG? Not that it matters, but just curious to know. Or maybe Cathay has higher profit margins from Nikon stuff?

Another ready 7D buyer here..
Unfortunately, my bill will be more expensive coz I'm eyeing the 100L as well :(

Thanks for the update.

Do they provide product training for upcoming products several weeks before actual sales date? Certainly they won't do that several MONTHS before sales, right?

I am hoping to at least have a backup camera for an upcoming trip. :bsmilie:

I heard from the Philippines that they'll be having a launch for the resellers/distributors. Although I'm not sure if stocks for sale are already in.

I will definitely get the 100L too, but not till early next year.

As I have promised myself before, the company that makes an image stabilized lens for macro shooting (one that should work at 1:1 magnification) earns my eternal loyalty. :bsmilie:

Anyway, together with the 10-22 (10-24 from Nikon is YIKES), 17-55 f/2.8 IS (Nikon equivalent is optically poorer and without VR) and 70-200 f/4 IS (no one has anything like it), Canon beats the competition by miles.

WOW!!! You guys really power.

EOS 7D will be out early Oct. We just have to wait for at most a month.

Finally, a solid mid-range camera body from Canon after so many years.

I know.. and I'm afraid the 10-22 and 17-55 are both calling my name too.

You don't consider 5D and 5DII mid range?

we all ready to ROCK !

no have the word solid kekekek

canon finally have a new cam around 2-3k :sweatsm:

No, I consider them as Semi-pro series.

When EOS 5D was first launched, it was selling at more than $4,000. No doubt that EOS 5D mk II costs less than $4,000, they are still considered semi-pro. Basically, the EOS 5D series are mini of EOS 1Ds series for people who want to shoot FF but at a budget. All EOS 1Ds series cost more than $10K when launched.

Should be around the price of a D300s - since it is a direct competitor.

Emm, so if I want to buy D300s, in another words I should wait untill these powerful rival shows up?

7 D's price and spec can win D300s hands down, emm... I going to hold and see the review from others first!

Counting down to the arrival of EOS 7D.

ya anyone has any news of its arrival here? I enquired at a shop at City Square at Johor Bahru yesterday and they have no idea when it will arrive too.

7D looks good :) waiting to see if there's any follow-up model to 50D though that uses the BP511A batteries :p dun want to waste all the batteries that had accompanied me since Canon 300D's days.

I can't wait for 7D to arrive to replace my 30D :D
