even at 12x zoom, handheld shots at max zoom in such lightins can cause pictures to be abit soft (due to handshake).. wif e TC, u're stretchin e competence of e S2/S3. so when every slightest shake wld be more prominent now..
an experiment my fren did in poor lightin was wif e S2 in poor lightin.. even on a tripod, u can see some softness on e img.

For tripod, its best to set it on the 2 second timer, so there is as little shake as possible.

This was a handheld shot at full tele, no USM.

Larger Image Here.

The full size image from the camera is quite sharp. Of course, shooting at a shutter of 1/1000 helps.
wishxtreme's shots were at 1/100, so slight camera shake will show up.

Hey,

Shooting at such fast shutter speed, even with the fastest F/Stop will still be under-exposing the pic leh. Any trick? I tried setting the ISO to 200 liao. Set EV?

Actually, that is the sky over Johor. That stuff you see in the background is Malaysia, I was at Punggol Point when I took this.

Will check with Eastgear and post here..

yeahz.. it ought to be bright sunlight. judgin by e fact dat e white of e tug boat is dat exposure.. if it's a cloudy day, it'll look really dull. it looks like a dark day due to e fast shutter speed..

Yah, that's what I make up......but didn't see much of sharp shadow.....so a bit wierd, may be to me only. Nice pic still!

The sun was almost face onto the boat, so shadows would be more to the rear.
